Dharchula is a town in Pithoragarh district in the northern state of Uttarakhand, surrounded by peaks from all sides and Kali river cutting through the middle, dividing the area into two towns on either bank of the river - one in India and the other in Nepal. Dharchula is inhabited by the people of Rung tribe. The hill station is an important camp on the Kailash-Mansarovar, Chotta Kailash and Narayan Ashram route.
