शत्रु और विरोधियों को नियंत्रित करने के लिए माँ कालरात्रि की उपासना अत्यंत शुभ होती है. इनकी उपासना से भय,दुर्घटना तथा रोगों का नाश होता है. इनकी उपासना से नकारात्मक ऊर्जा का ( तंत्र मंत्र) असर नहीं होता. ज्योतिष में शनि नामक ग्रह को नियंत्रित करने के लिए इनकी पूजा करना अदभुत परिणाम देता है.माँ के समक्ष घी का दीपक जलाएँ. माँ को लाल फूल अर्पित करें , साथ ही गुड़ का भोग लगाएं. माँ के मन्त्रों का जाप करें. या सप्तशती का पाठ करें. लगाये गए गुड़ का आधा भाग परिवार में बाटें. बाकी आधा गुड़ किसी ब्राह्मण को दान कर दें. काले रंग के वस्त्र धारण करके या किसी को नुकसान पंहुचाने के उद्देश्य से पूजा न करें.
