The reflection of the pure Self in the mirror of the Antahkarana (mind-intellect-ego unit) is called Jeevatman or the reflected self. The projection in itself holds no existence in the absence of a source from which it reflects.
In a deep sleep state, mind and intellect cease to function; there is no feeling of having a body too, yet we cannot deny the presence of "I" all that while. But how do we demarcate between the Real and the reflected Self? What role does a refined intellect play in knowing the difference between the two?
