*KANTARA is a wake-up call to all Hindus* - the Indians, i.e. Bharatiyas (only non-converts and non-secular Hindus call themselves Bharatiya). Bharat is still infected by the invaders of the abrahamic/destructive/mafia mindset who - inspired by Quran/Bible - looted, killed, enslaved, converted millions here and now their byproducts continue to do the same, fully supported by namesake atheists belonging to communists ideology (brainwashed in schools/colleges/media/movies). Also watch out for those neo-Buddhists (which has nothing to do with real Buddhism and is full of Hindu-hatred) blind-believers of AIT(Aryan invasion theory), Aryan-Dravid myth which forms the base of anti-Hindu mindset. They are all our own people and will come back home only if we proudly identify ourselves as Hindus and explore the wisdom coming from our rich cultural roots of this Bhoomi.

Some communists were making arguments that tribal religion is different from hinduism and Brahmins assimilated it with hinduism over time. This is incorrect if you hear the padDanas (oral and real time history of daivaa spoken directly from daivas through possesed hiumans). In punjurli padDanas clearly accepts that He was sent to earth from kaliasa during kaliyuga by Shiva and Parvathi. But communist historians argue that Shiva is originally dravidian God and Brahmins later introduced into Hinduism. But there are many other Gods of hinduism like Vishnu Parvati, Hanuman and many concepts of Hinduism like karma kailasa kaliyuga etc. If everything is assimilated with Hindism then there is no so called Aryan Gods. One more strong argument is that padDanas are oral stories tolrd over generation to generation. If it was written in manuscript then it can be interpolated by outsiders. But oral and real stories cannot be interpolated.

Before shooting the movie, rishabh shetty took the permission of Panjurli daiva. The daiva gave its permission by smearing its color on him. Shetty even turned vegetarian during the entire shoot since he wanted to be shuddha while depicting panjurli, a daiva that doesn't eat meat. Moreover, footwear was not used in the sets unless a shot demanded sandals to be seen. This is nothing short of a tapasya for him

But later we moved to cities and also the forests around my native place have been destroyed massively in recent years due to urbanisation. So unfortunately the connect with nature and daivas is much lesser now. The next generation of patris are all into modern education and corporate jobs. So, people following the tradition has gone down.

And they amaze by the fact that the rituals we practice have such a deep understanding. I must tell u, it is the Deva who is sending it's message to protect nature through "Rishabh Shetty".

I have seen this movie yesterday and movie is excellent. There is no question of North South culture. I am from West India and this movie have refreshed my memories with my Lt. grandmother. When I was kid, she uses to tell me bedtime stories of our ancestor village. One of the stories was of Lord Kshetrapal dada. She told that when she was of my age (may be 5-6 years) she has experienced the presence of Lord kshetrapal (guardian of village and people). Lord use to guard the village in night and use to patrol on his white horse. They used to hear sounds of mystical bells ( ghungharoo ) tied on horse legs. No one tries to follow him or see him. As a kid I was amused by this and asked still he guards the village. She told yes but no one now experienced him after one incident. Once, a man tried to follow him and lord got disappeared at the outskirts of the village near riverbank. Now, at present there is very big temple build at the same place and whenever we use to visit our village, we use to take blessing of Lord Kshetrapal Ji. My father and uncle always narrated the incidents of thieves who never got success to cross the river before temple in taking stolen things out of village. Gramdevta , Kshetrapal or Panjurli is nothing new in our sanatan culture. Almost, every village or town in India have their Gram Devta. Majorly gram devatas are Gods like Hanumanji , Kalbharavji , or relative to supreme lord shiva. However, in many places gramdevta are goddess too. We have very reach culture, rituals and traditions in India. This is one of the stories of Kundapur village of udupi district. We have thousands of villages in India and each of the villages will have something to share. We need many more films like this.

We have grama devatas in Gujarat too. We usually refer to it as માતાજી આવ્યા / mataji aaye. Sadly growing up in a big city and a “modern” family I was discouraged from following these things. Movies like Kantara are a big eye opener. We need to reconnect with our Vedic and indigenous roots.

Part 1- I am from Kullu Himachal Pradesh.. Our Kul Devta is Kaurvas , Pandvas . We call Kauravas as Kaila Veer and Pandvas as Panch Veer. Everytime there is a function related to our Kuldevta .We have a Gur or Shaman who conveys the message of the devta to the people. Part 2- We have Maa Chamunda as our village deity. She has different shaman. When there is a festival or she is invited by people to there home there also her message is conveyed by the gur or shaman. We have a festival every third year we call it Kahika. In this festival a guy (called as Naud) is brought back from almost death. He is in state of trance. In a way he is Murchit (May sound weird but this is what it is).The Naud is given Panchratna which is a custom here which is given to a person who dies here in mountains. Now his body is wrapped in white clothes like a dead body and is now carried to a field (Khet) which belongs to Maa Chamunda where many shamans of different deities of different places are accompanying the Naud. At this moment these Shamans or Gurs are in a state where dieties are possessing them. In a way the shakti is travelling alongside the dead guy. In this field there is a stone where is kept and some puja is performed. The Naud is now carried back by people to Maa Chamunda temple and now all the shamans are trying him to bring back to life. Within few minutes he is seen standing and running for air to breath. If Naud is not brought back to life everything Maa Chamunda has will be given to Naud's family. All money, gold etc everything. If you want to know you guys can search for Kahika festival of Kullu.

There is a festival in Bangalore which is similar to your local deity worship. It is called Karaga, where a man dressed as Devi Draupadi, carries the heavy karaga on his head, dancing all the way in a procession. He is accompanied by Veera Kumaras with open swords in their hands, and it is said that they would cut off the Karaga bearer's head should the holy karaga fall to the ground during the long dance, because of some impurity of body or mind on the part of the karaga bearer. However, it has never happened in living memory that the karaga haa fallen ! The central Bangalore gets choked on Karaga day with hundreds of thousands of devotees throng the streets to participate in the procession.

Arihant ji I am from Uttarakhand (Garhwal Division) and have been brought up seeing exactly what is depicted in Kantara and it’s so normal for us and the people there. It’s part of their lives. Every village has there local Daivs’ (called Debta in Garhwali), then there is one for a group of villages (tehsil or Patti) so on and so forth. I was so surprised to see Kantara and wondered how it’s so similar and how it’s disappeared and forgotten as villages become towns and towns become cities for e.g my UP friends have no clue what this is and are getting to know this concept first time

Sai Deepak's observation is brilliant on this movie and I think as he is from south, the emotion that I see he displayed during this review is exactly similar to what I have. These are my Native stuff so you might see me describing it quite passionately here. I have seen lot of reviewers of Kantara even mentioning that there is a excellent Horror sequence in this movie. Countless time I had to correct those reviewers that, Bhai this is not a Horror movie. This is about Devine spirit of Kaluruti Panjurali (Devine Boar, Varaha Avatar) & Guliga. Ofcourse they accepted my suggestion later and apologies for the incorrect description and frankly I don't blame them as they are not aware about it and the Presence of Guliga is actually intense in real life. I have seen it personally also when they do some supernatural act. You can see it in their eyes that the Vessel (The Human who is possessed) is actually in fainted state and whatever act you see him doing in the possessed state is the Devine presence. One observation on the Movie during the Varaha Roopam song they translated the word Bootha as Demon in english, which was wrong. Actually the word Bootha when translated to english means Spirit or Ghost, hence the confusion I think, Actually it means Devine spirit. But my point is when you have faith and belief in our Sanatana Dharma you will never be spooked by Devine presence and that's what was described in the movie when king hears the Anklet sound coming from Jungle, he is not spooked by it. Infact he experiences Parental love and intense emotion. Also Sai brilliantly highlighted so minute details such as when Shiva is full on possessed by Devine spirit of Guliga, we can see that spark in his Mothers eyes and Villagers literally Bow down and accepts that Devine presence. They are not spooked by it as they have faith in it. A little bit of background on Guliga is that he was born with Intense Hunger and he is derived from Lord Shiva himself. He starts devouring anything that comes in his path, He even emptied the entire ocean of vaikunta and Lord Vishnu had to put his little finger in guliga's mouth to curb his craving. That's how intense Guliga is and that is what you see in the movie. The villagers immediately identify that it is the presence of Guliga in Shiva's body and they know that it will start devouring anything, hence they immediately offer him Puffed Rice sack and Guliga start's consuming it. I have seen it in real life the vessel who is possessed by Guliga devours an entire Live chicken. Hence people will immediately bring Puffed Rice sack & White pumpkin to control it's hunger. Sometime it will run so ferociously and usually towards the jungle and during such Kola there are some hefty men there to prevent it running away. I have seen 15 hefty men sweating & struggling to stop it running away from pandal and even in some cases it runs away and villagers will then follow it. Guliga can't stand injustice and he is the swift deliverer of Justice. Looking at the 15 min climax of the movie you can understand what I mean. In real life also if you are present in the Kola during the possessed state he can identify people who are following wrong path and he will warn them to take righteous path or else it will punish them and in some cases we can also see it will pull out people and start punishing them with a stick like a Father who discipline his kids. Also, Kaluruti Panjurali & Guliga are considered siblings, that was not the case in the beginning though. When they first met, they had intense battle and created immense destruction and Mata JalaDurga had to console them and order them to stop fighting and live like siblings. Due to immense respect for Mata they immediately stopped fighting and started living like siblings henceforth. At many places they are both worshipped together, hence you can see the reference of them both in the movie. On one instance in the beginning of the movie the Vessel who was taken over by Kaluruti Panjurali mentions that even if he forgives, Guliga won't due to it's nature of giving swift justice. Also when Shiva's father runs towards Jungle and disappeared, he was possessed by Kaluruti Panjurali during that time. At the end Shiva was possessed by Guliga and he could hear the Anklet sound during his possessed state and runs towards the jungle to meet his father. When they meet, they do exactly as Mata JalaDurga ordered, live happily like siblings and you can see them dancing in joy and disappear at the end. These spirits are Shiva Gana's, Kaluruti Panjurali & Guliga are considered one of the oldest in Tulunadu history and they were sent by Lord Shiva himself to protect the Villagers and People in need and Steer them away from doing bad deeds and bring them to righteous path. so there is no fear for these Devine being and usually these spirits are first stepping stone for us to reach the Lord themself, so you can't deny their importance. You know why we call Lord Shiva BoleNath, because he takes care of everyone, the one who worship him and also that one who don't and the poor one's who can't reach his divinity directly, hence he creates multiple path for us to reach him. These Rituals are part of our Hindu Dharma and people who are telling that these are superstition don't have an ounce of knowledge about Hindu dharma. One other thing I would like to highlight here is in Karnataka especially in Mangalore area people have become modern nowadays, but they are still connected to their roots and external distraction have never diverted them away from their roots. I could say this very proudly being from there. One important thing that I observed in this movie about Sanatana dharma is that it unites everybody. I have seen people from east, west, north, south getting united even though though they don't have an ounce of knowledge about these rituals, but they are still drawn together and united. That's the beauty of our Sanatana Dharma. We might be talking about Rishabh's brilliance here but I am preety sure this is all Devine being that guided him to do this movie and bring us all together. I am preety sure Rishab will also accept this.

Not just that coastal Karnataka and Himachal-Jammu has many similar dishes in our cuisines too. 1)Patrode(CK) - Patrode(H) 2)Neerdose(CK) - Ankliya(H) 3)Buns(CK) - Babroo(H) 4)Annada (Anna=Rice) kesari bhaat(CK) = Meethe Chaval(H) 5)A special Kind of Dosa made using Patrode Batter(CK) - कतलू (H) 6)Paladya(Curd based dish) - Palda (H) 7)Mango based Himachali dishes like Mahni, Ambua are made in Coastal Karnataka too. 8)In Coastal Karnataka Mustard is used in Raita similar to Himachali Raita 9)In Coastal Karnataka Hindus follow Solar Calendar and celebrate new year on April 14th/15th and the festival is knows as "Bisu" or "Vishu". Bisu is also celebrated in both Jammu and Himachal regions. 10)Jammu region has significant Nagadevata worship just like in coastal Karnataka. And also "Rao" is one of the famous surnames of coastal Karnataka Brahmin communities. 🤪

Kantara is in my language Kannada. Also a truly rooted " Indie experience" in the true sense! Charvaakas too would acknowledge that the deep rooted faith of locals acts as a bridge between man and nature and eventually protecting both as a result! Rishabh carries the faith of the character he created and therefore he is so mind boggling and convincing while enacting the role! Masterpiece. MUST watch! 👌

Kantara is a masterpiece which took us all back to our roots and culture. The customs may vary but the ultimate goal is spiritual. Instead of looking for differences we should see similarities among us and this film has proved that we Sanatan Hindus can come together. The climax of the film brought tears in my eyes. The entire team of this film deserves our support and appreciation 🙏🏻. Jai Bharat

Legendary SAI DEEPAK sir .. Your explanation is brilliant -- Yes -- Government came much later and we native Mangalorean nurtured our area so beautifully since ages -- I am native of Mangalore and know these things first hand -- British gave tons of land to Cristian missionaries in Mangalore 8 KM stretch is still there in Mangalore ( BENDOOR TO MARGAN GATE ) is mostly with Christian institutes -- St Aloysius College which is having more than 10000 acre of prime land at heart of Mangalore -- Basel Mission was very active in Mangalore -- YET DESPITE ALL THESE -- Mangalore remained bastion of HINDUTVA because of these strong traditions which are there for ages -- Along with this BHOOTHARADANE ( Which KAANTHARA movie depicted) we have one more very strong medium which is YAKSHAGANA which kept Hindus together and even other religion people also getting attracted towards that ( In YAKSHAGANA We show stories of Ramayana Mahabharata etc..) Coastal Karnataka has unique practices which are perhaps not there in other parts of Karnataka itself ( may be northen Kerala might have similar thing ) .

My family is from Kannuj and Bundelkhand regions and I can tell you that every region of this country is filled with such indigenous practices woven brilliantly into the Hindu pantheon. I have seen Kul Devi/ Devta Pooja, regional festivals and celebrations on similar lines. And forget Indians my white friend who has very little idea about Hinduism, but no idea about the regionals practices and eve she loved it. She wants to see it again on her laptop to maybe pause and research more about it and understand the movie better. But I am glad that the Telugu community in my city made sure the film was screened specially so that all of us could watch it on big screen and I hope it plays in the theatres in north for a few more months so that I can visit India and watch it again in Hindi with my family. Kantara is truly a legend of a movie!

There r three imp Khandoba in the MH 1. Jejuri - Pune 2.Korthan - A nagar 3. Mhaladevi - A nagar Our kuldaivat is Korthan Khandoba. To be specific, the Devta which come close to Daiva shown in the movie is Mhasoba (म्हसोबा). It is always located at the outskirts of village and never in the temple ( with very few exceptions). In our village it is very feared deity. We do animal sacrifice every year. Each time He demands different creature like 2 legs ( hen) , 4 legs( male goat) through his intermediary. What he tells us we do accordingly no questions asked.
