Disappointing!!!! The plot of this clip has an inherent weakness. Early on, parents must instill in their children moral and ethical values, and strong work ethics by setting a good example. Children are no dummies. They observe their parents' conduct and emulate them. Parents are not perfect but if their conduct is poor, not much can be expected from the children. Yes, children should be able to trust parents and confine in them but that is NOT FRIENDSHIP. Parents have a role to play ....exercise parental authority, demand accountability, and be guide and a mentor. A bond eventually develops and becomes stronger with time. If a child trusts and respects its parents, then, as an adult, it would also become a friend... but not sooner. Every relationship has its limits, and those boundaries must be respected ... at all times. As this Sanskrit shloka says: "Prapte shodashe'l varshe, Putram mitra vadacharet..." That is, when your son turns 16, start treating him as a friend. Certainly not sooner. A parent being a guide, mentor and confidant is not the same as being a friend. This story would have been more believable had the father admitted that, as a child, his son noticed him telling lies... He should have set a better example for his son by always being truthful , honest and respindible. Father's remorse and regret would have strengthen the plot and made it a more believable video.
