The people of the country India which had been colonised by Muslims then British were always given the knowledge of seggregation. They have still colonised mindset. Hindus never accept muslims as brothers, Buddhists cant accept hindus as brothers and so on. On the other hand in Nepal we have always an ancient tradition of having coexistence. So we have joint temple of hinduism and buddhism and kiratis. Indian neo buddhists may find it unnecessary but this is the bond for all Nepali. Jay Nepal🇳🇵🇳🇵

YOU will find traces of Buddhism everywhere in Nepal. In Kathmandu only there are more than 500 ancient stupas, most of which were built by Samrat Ashoka. There is a place called Kankre Bihar in Surkhet which was built by a Buddhist king during 12th century but the Hindu extremist authority of the district have halted the Buddhist there from putting a Buddhist statue and has instead built a Hindu temple nearby. This is the truth of Nepal. Buddhism is the first religion of our nation. In fact it existed even before Nepal was unified as a country and our national treasures such as Bhirkuti, and arniko proves it to be true. Princess Bhirkuti a Nepalese princess who married Tibetan King Songsten Gampo is the one who introduced and spread Buddhism in Tibet. Arniko the renown national treasure of Nepal had gained global admiration from his unique pagoda structure engineering and he had claimed that his engineering style is the reflection of his Buddhist belief.

Let me quote you here few facts that you and every Buddhist religious people will accept. The first thing is that Buddha himself was a Hindu. He was borne in a Hindu family. His father was Suddhodhana and his mother was Mayadevi and her wife name was Yashodhara. All three names clearly depicts that they were Hindus. Second and the most important thing is that Siddhartha Gautama didn't left the palace to discover new religion called Buddhism instead he left the palace in the search of hidden truth of Life. Like why people get Old? Why People suffer from diseases? why people Die? Why there is sorrow in peoples' lives etc. etc. After he achieved the enlightenment then people of that era named him Buddha, meaning the enlightened one or the one who has enormous and important knowledge. When he started preaching there were people who used to hate him because he used to gather young people and used to preach them. The most important thing, When Buddha was about to die he called his disciples and told them that not to build any temples or monasteries in his name and even that not to erect any sculptures dedicating him. But later people of that era started developing his teachings in the form of Religion which is wrong. Because Buddha nowhere said that he has discovered a new religion. Whatever he has preached is fact of life or philosophy of life that can be accepted and followed by all people across the globe no matter which religion they follow. Because he has taught how to live i.e., the lilfe style. And also in Hinduism Buddha has been mentioned as 10th reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. That is why even in Pashupatinath Temple you can find Buddha's sculptures and same in Swayambhunath and even in Muktinath. Because its not that only there was only one Buddha in this world. Before Lord Buddha or Siddhartha Gautama had taken his birth there were already two Buddhas borne before him in Nepal where Emperor Ashoka had visited the place and erected two pillars there. So don't get confused and don't think that Nepalese don't understand Buddha or we take Buddhism differently or lightly. There are almost 9 percent of total population as Buddhist.

The Buddhism followed in Nepal is more influenced by the Mahāyāna & Vajrayāna sect. And in India we follow more of Hinyāna sect. So that may be the reason we could see such cultural & worship differences on both sides.
