Being a woman (specially a young woman) in South Asia including in Nepal and Pakistan is itself a challenge, where male dominance, male gaze and misogyny are quite common. Add the social media toxicity to this mix and that can be deadly. I urge everyone to restrain themselves as they make vicious comments and unsubstantiated accusations. While we don’t know what was going on behind the live show involving Marwan, it is safe to assume that Aleeya’s more than 7 years of exposure in the social media has given her the experience to deal with in such situations. While I too was not very happy how Suresh was treated that day, we all should exercise restraint in making vulgar and vicious comments coming from people on both sides. A young girl 15 years of age in Canada committed suicide for which a Dutch-Turkish man was found responsible and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The girl Amanda was a victim of cyberbullying. I request my fellow Nepalis and also Pakistanis to stop spreading hate to Aleeya and Suresh and just let them live their lives whether in reel or in reality. Please help post this message on other Alresh related broads so we can raise some awareness. I have been seeing a lot of vicious attacks on both hosts who are simply trying to spread culture, customs, and goodwill to all viewers. I hope this is not a big ask. I would appreciate it if someone can translate this into Nepali and Urdu when posting.
