नारी त्याग और बलिदान की मूर्ति होती है। घर उसके लिए स्वर्ग होता है, पति उसके लिए परमेश्वर, और बच्चे परम-परमेश्वर का सबसे अनमोल तोहफ़ा। जीवन इन्हे सरे रिश्ते-नातों के संतुलन का नाम है अगर यह संतुलन बिगड़ जाये तो स्वर्ग नर्क बन जाता है पति एक नाम मात्र रिश्ता और बच्चे एक बोझ।
"हुकुम"एक ऐसी ही कहानी है जहाँ इसी संतुलन के बिगड़ने से रिश्ते-नातों में खटास पड़ जाती है।

If this balance gets disturbed, heaven becomes hell; husband is just a relationship and children are a burden.
