A victim is more likely to share their experiences unless they feel unsafe or the offender is brought in front of them. She definitely was not in the shoes of a 'victim' in Mr Kibria's show, and seemed rather interested in establishing her own narrative in a public platform. Likewise, the husband's solution to all that cheatting, emotional abuse, etc. should've been to dissolve the marriage. But the violence he resorted to is beyond excusable and not justified by his own sufferings. Yes, we should listen to both sides, but also suppress the urge to reduce real-world cases as black and white. Both parties can be guilty, and even a 'victim' isn't necessarily innocent. This is why sexual violence cases are very ill-suited for 'restorative justice' (i.e. "shaleesh"), then again Mr. Kibria's show is not a judiciary platform in the first place. I suffered a witch hunt from 4 organizations in 2021 when 10,000+ people called me a r*pist all over social media. Not one person read through the actual post or heard my side of the story, except the police officer and my lawyer. Not my boss, not clients, not friends. The proof of my innocence was in the comments. The ringleader was an activist and a victim of sexual violence. Didn't stop her from lying through her teeth.

I am commenting based on hearing both sides. I can safely conclude the guy is in the wrong here for several reasons: 1) He is already married to other women and he does not have good relations with them. 2) When asked why he married Riya, a divorcee herself with a child, he implied he did it with sympathy/favour 3) His story about her falling cannot possibly have caused the injuries she suffered. She was definitely assaulted and he is lying to defend in court. 4) He complains about her wife cheating on him but he put in a clause that prevented her from divorcing him. So she clearly wanted to divorce him but he didnt allow it and now he is complaining that she had cheated near the end of their relationship. 5) This guy is associated with political party and he has multiple cases against him. These are just public info. So Mr. Fakrul, i cannot agree with your spin on this story that is making the woman a lyer or false victim. She is a genuine victim, but with clear flaws. However, a murder attempt can never be justified here

ফখরুল ভাই, আশা করি ভালো আছেন। ভাই, দেশ তো এখন একটু হইলেও কিছুটা স্থিতিশীল হয়েছে, কিছুটা হইলেও মোটামুটি একরকম চলতেছে আরকি, ভালো হোক বা খারাপ হোক, জনজীবন মোটামুটি কিছুটা হইলেও আগের গতিতে এসেছে, তো ভাই অনেকদিন হয়ে গেল আন্তর্জাতিক বেশ কিছু ব্যাপার নিয়ে আপনার কথা, আপনার অবস্থান, আপনার বিশ্লেষণ শোনা হয়নি। এই কয়দিনে অনেক কিছুই তো হয়ে গেল ভাই, যেমন: হামাসের শীর্ষ নেতার মৃত্যু, ইরান-ইসরাইল-ফিলিস্তিন যুদ্ধের নতুন মোড়, রাশিয়া-ইউক্রেন যুদ্ধের নতুন মোড় এবং এইরকম আরও বেশ কিছু ঘটনা। অনেকদিন ধরে এইসব ব্যাপারে আপনার নিরপেক্ষ বিশ্লেষণ জানার জন্য অপেক্ষায় আছি ভাই। এই কয়দিন ধরে দেশের বিশেষ জরুরি অবস্থার জন্য এইসব ব্যাপারে আপনার কোনো কথা বলার কোনো সুযোগ হয়নি হয়তোবা। বাংলাদেশের মিডিয়ার খবর দেখলেই তো আমার মনে হয় যেন আর মোটামুটি মিনিট দশেকের মধ্যেই ইসরাইল ফিলিস্তিনের হাতে-পায়ে ধরে মাফ চাওয়া শুরু করবে এবং রাশিয়া-ইউক্রেন যুদ্ধের ক্ষেত্রেও একই রকমই মনে হয় যে আর মিনিট দশেকের মধ্যেই ইউক্রেন রাশিয়ার হাতে শেষ হয়ে যাবে। কিন্তু আসলে কি ঘটনা ঘটছে এবং সেটার একটা নিরপেক্ষ বিশ্লেষণ তো আর বাংলাদেশি বর্তমান মিডিয়া থেকে পাওয়া যায় না, অন্ততপক্ষে আমি পাচ্ছি না বলেই আমার কাছে মনে হচ্ছে। তাই ভাই, এইসব ঘটনার সত্যিকার অবস্থা জানানোর জন্য এবং ঘটনাগুলোর ব্যাপারে আপনার নিরপেক্ষ মতামত দেয়ার জন্য আপনার প্রতি বিনীত অনুরোধ জানাচ্ছি।
