kashmir tour in bengali 2024
If there is heaven on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here. These words by poet Amir Khusro truly come to life in the picturesque land of Kashmir. Having heard these lines since childhood, it wasn't until I experienced Kashmir firsthand that I fully understood their meaning. Join us on this journey as we explore Kashmir, a place where God seems to have painted the most vibrant part of the world’s canvas.
In this video, we'll guide you through everything you need to know for your Kashmir trip: how to get there, where to go, what to do, where to stay, and how to explore this paradise while avoiding scams.
Getting to Kashmir:
There are two main ways to reach Kashmir: by road or by flight. Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir, will be your starting point. Srinagar is well connected, with regular flights from major cities like Delhi and Kolkata.
Experiencing the Beauty of Kashmir:
Your Kashmir trip can be divided into three delightful segments:
1. Exploring Srinagar:
Dal Lake: The heart of Srinagar, Dal Lake, is iconic. Spanning about seven kilometers, it is the epicenter of Srinagar tourism. While the roads around the lake can be busy, the experience is well worth it.
Tulip Garden: If you visit during tulip season, typically in April, start your trip at one of the world’s largest tulip gardens. The vibrant colors of the tulips set against the green grass are mesmerizing.
Shalimar Bagh Mughal Garden: Another beautifully serene spot.
Dargah Hazrat Bal Masjid: A significant and tranquil place of worship.
In the afternoon, enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, ideally from ghat no 12, recommended for its reliable service. Experience the sunset over the lake, a truly magical sight. Post the ride, explore local shops for souvenirs like traditional Pashmina shawls.
2. The Snow Trails:
Gulmarg: Known as one of the most beautiful hill stations globally, it’s about a 2.5 to 3-hour drive from Srinagar. The journey transitions from flat roads to winding paths through hills, offering enchanting views.
Drang Waterfall: A stunning natural attraction.
Gondola Ride: For the best experience, book your tickets 2-3 months in advance. The ride offers breathtaking views and takes you up the hill where you can experience snow, especially during March and April.
Planning and Precautions:
• Travel Syndicates: Be aware of the syndicates in Kashmir. Whether it's arranging rides or planning your itinerary, often, you'll need to follow the advice of your driver or travel agent. This can sometimes feel restrictive but ensures a smoother trip.
• Local Markets: When buying local goods, especially Pashmina shawls, it’s better to avoid tourist spots. Look for recommended shops where quality and price are more reliable.
With this guide, your trip to Kashmir will be well-planned and hassle-free. Enjoy the mesmerizing beauty and tranquility of this heavenly land.
Sonmarg:
• Getting There: Sonmarg is a scenic 75 km drive from Srinagar. You can either plan a 2-day, 1-night stay in Sonmarg or opt for a day trip from Srinagar. Alternatively, you can visit Sonmarg on your way back from Gulmarg to Srinagar.
• Accommodation: Sonmarg caters to all budgets, offering a range of accommodations from luxury hotels to budget-friendly options.
• Activities: During summer, enjoy the lush meadows, crystal-clear rivers, and trekking opportunities. In winter, Sonmarg transforms into a skiing paradise, providing a thrilling experience for snow sports enthusiasts.
Pehelgam:
Next, we head to Pehelgam, often considered the crown jewel of Kashmir.
• Getting There: Pehelgam is 100 km from Srinagar, taking about 2.5 to 3 hours by car. It’s crucial to leave early in the morning to avoid delays caused by army convoys on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
• Accommodation: While you can plan a day trip to Pehelgam, an overnight stay (or ideally 1-2 nights) is recommended to fully experience its beauty and tranquility.
• The Journey: The drive to Pehelgam is an experience in itself. Along the way, you'll pass through saffron fields and apple orchards. Make sure to stop and enjoy fresh apple juice made right in front of you.
• Scenic Views: The road offers stunning views of narrow mountain paths, clear mountain streams, and vibrant green mountains under the blue sky. It’s a sight straight out of a dream.
Pehelgam Attractions:
1. Betab Valley: Located just 7 km from the main city, Betab Valley is a picturesque spot that feels like a scene from a fairytale.
2. Aru Valley and Lidder Valley: Further 6 km away, these valleys offer serene landscapes that are perfect for photography and quiet reflection.
