Bengali language has been recognised as a Classical Language by the Union Cabinet recently. How it has got that recognition, what was the process behind it, who were the resource persons to prepare the volumes of documents to prove the language as Classical on behalf of the West Bengal state government, are some of the questions we are looking the answers for. We went to Dr Rajib Chakraborty, an eminent linguist and one of the main academicians behind this whole project with these questions.
