এই মসজিদ নির্মাণের পেছনে বেশ কয়েকটি কাহিনি প্রচলিত আছে। এর ভিত্তি স্থাপনের জন্য মাটি আনা হয়েছিল মদিনা শরিফ থেকে। এর পেছনে একটি উদ্দেশ্য ছিল। যারা আর্থিক অসংগতি কিংবা শারীরিক অসুস্থতার কারণে মদিনায় যেতে পারবেন না, তারা যেন এখানে এসে আত্মার প্রশান্তি লাভ করতে পারেন। আবার আরেকটি মত অনুসারে মাটি আনা হয়েছিল কারবালা থেকে।
There are several stories behind the construction of this mosque. Soil for its foundation was brought from Medina Sharif. There was a purpose behind it. Those who cannot go to Madinah due to financial inconsistencies or physical ailments, may come here and find peace of mind. According to another opinion, the soil was brought from Karbala.
