Power Factor EXPLAINED! | What is power factor? | Ashiq's theory
First of all, take my greetings. Today I've talked about a electrical term or factor which is related to AC line & it is called Power Factor. Most of us
are familiar with this term but a lot of us still struggling with this topic to understand properkly what this thing actually is. Basically power factor is common term
in all industrial sites. Residential sectors are free from this just because the load variation. In DC line, the power factor is unity or 1. But when it is about
frequencies & phases then this power factor issues rise up. The range of power factor is 0-1.
What is power factor?
Ans: Power Factor is a measure of how effectively incoming power is used in your electrical system and is defined as the ratio of Real (working)
power to Apparent (total) power. For easier understand, it can be said that more power factor, less loss. In residential areas, there is less effect
on power factor just because amost of the load is resistive. But in case of industrial, optimum number of loads are inductive. For example: 3-Phase induction motors,
single phase induction motors etc. In case of inductor, voltyage leads current by 90 degree. thats why a phase difference is formed & loss occures. So, through writings it'd be so hard
for me to explain all the matters. Hope you'll or you already have watched the video. To get better understand on this power factor please visit these
