'Puban Hawa' (which means 'the eastern wind') is a Na't-e-Rasul penned by the national poet of Bangladesh Kazi Nazrul Islam and tuned by another legend in Bangla folk song Abbas Uddin.
Here, the poet expresses a deep yearning to visit the two holy cities of Islam, Makka and Madina. Lacking the means, the poet requests the eastern wind to carry his salutation to the Prophet's shrine. This song is a unique treasure of Bengal's rich folk Islamic music tradition.
On this day, the 125th birth anniversary of our national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, this is a little tribute to him. May the Almighty forgive him and grant him Jannah.
