TODAY'S RECIPE IS POPULAR ARABIAN DESSERT BASBOUSA | YOGURT SEMOLINA SWEET CAKE | EID SPECIAL DESSERT
This dense, moist, and aromatic basbousa cake will melt in your mouth! I love Middle Eastern desserts as they tend to be a lot less sweet than other desserts. That’s not to say that these desserts won’t satisfy a sweet tooth! It’s just a different type of sweetness. That’s most likely because most Middle Eastern desserts get their sweetness from homemade syrups.
Authentic Arabian basbousa recipe that is soft and stays soft. A delicious yogurt and semolina cake that filled with cream and drizzled with syrup. For garnish gets sprinkled with nuts, rose petal to put the final seal of perfection.
INGREDIENTS:
Cake ~
1 cup semolina
½ cup coarse semolina
½ cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
150 gm butter or oil
1 cup milk
½ cup yogurt
2 eggs
Cream ~
4 cups milk
½ cup cornflour
3 tbsp sugar
½ cup dano sterilized cream
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Sugar syrup ~
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 lemon
1 teaspoon orange blossom water
