@ishtiaqueSIA - 01:06:46 এ মনে হয় স্যার ভার্টিকাল রিসার্চকে হরাইজন্টাল বলে ফেলেছেন (যদি সেটা ভার্টিকাল আর হরাইজন্টাল চিন্তার থেকে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে থাকে আরকি)। কারণ হরাইজন্টালে কিন্তু আপনার বক্সের বাইরে যাওয়া লাগছে (সীমানার বাইরে!), যেখানে ভার্টিকালে আপনার বাক্সের উপরে বাক্স বন্দী থাকা লাগছে! আশা করি জানাবেন :) আর খুব ভালো হয়েছে ইন্টারভিউটা। Foreign Advisor/Mentor গবেষণা প্রোগ্রাম আমি এই বছর আইআইটি, ঢাবির ব্যাচেলরস প্রোগ্রামে পরীক্ষামূলক ভাবে চালু করেছি (অবশ্যই দেশি বিদেশি স্যারদের সাহায্য নিয়ে), সেটা নিয়ে আপনার সাথে আলাপ করবো অভিজ্ঞতা আর সমস্যাগুলো নিয়ে। তবে এখন পর্যন্ত সব ভালো হয়েছে! ✌
Thanks for your comment. I am so glad to know about your initiative. Please keep us posted about the outcome of it. In fact, both horizontal and vertical research can go beyond the box. Both are important. Horizontal research is motivated by what other people have already done. Vertical research is motivated by what nobody has ever done. The latter is usually more appreciated. I guess the root of these two terms are in the vertical and horizontal hopes in western pragmatism philosophy (Dewey, Rorty, etc.). I should have clarified this in my speech. Thanks for asking.
