ইসলাম ধর্মের ৫টি স্তম্ভের মধ্যে একটি হচ্ছে হজ। সামর্থ্যবান মুসলিমদের ওপর জীবনে অন্তত একবার হজ করা ফরয। ইসলামের এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিধানের ব্যাপারে নাস্তিক-মুক্তমনা এবং বিশেষত খ্রিষ্টান মিশনারিদের অভিযোগ হচ্ছে : হজের রীতিগুলো মোটেও ইব্রাহিম(আ.) এর সাথে কিংবা একত্ববাদের সাথে সম্পর্কিত নয়; বরং এগুলো প্রাচীন আরবের পৌত্তলিক মূর্তিপূজারিদের থেকে ধার করা। তাদের এই অভিযোগগুলো দেখে অনেকের মনে হজ সম্পর্কে বিভ্রান্তির সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে।

Ihram: After the Hajj begins, pilgrims don a special garment, Ihram. Ihram is a white and simple garment that is doha and narrow in concept for men and worn naturally over a tat or sari for women.
Tawaf: Before the completion of the Hajj, pilgrims perform the Kaaba eshra which is performed over the Kaaba mandala.
Saye: Pilgrims take shelter again by crossing a stream in the Sai Sea in a ceremony called Saye.
Arafat: The secret day of the Hajj, Arafat, where pilgrims require a large maulyan where they discuss the story of Ibrahim and Ishmael and pray.
Jamrat: On this occasion, the Hajis set up stones at each Jamrat pillar so they can be attacked as pilgrims with samples.
