Cuttack city is set to become a smart city in the near future. During a recent visit to 40 puja pandals, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi lauded the spirit of brotherhood in Cuttack. He stated, "Cuttack will soon be a smart city. The government is considering proposals to develop both the new and old capitals as twin cities." Former minister Samir Dey also weighed in, suggesting that if a dual city is established, it should be developed as a joint capital, similar to the model of New and Old Delhi. He added that the twin cities would function like Hyderabad and Secunderabad, with Cuttack gaining status comparable to Bhubaneswar as a capital city. Dey emphasized that more state-level government offices would be established in Cuttack.
