FEW IMPORTANT POINTS FROM MAHARAJA’S CLASS ON JIVA'S PROGRESS IN MOTHER'S WOMB Kapila deva and Devahuti sambada SRIMAD BHAGAVATAM 3RD CANTO 15TH Feb 2024, BOUDH Now a days generally people have views that they should work for their family and why they should bother about Bhagavan. We must understand that however perfectly we may perform karma, ultimately Bhagavan's consent is required to get results. We must remember that Bhagavan has created this world, given us our body. All products are created by Bhagavan. We must remember that whether one is a great scientist or a great doctor, but he has come to this material world without having any knowledge. We human beings have nothing. Everything is gifted by Iswara. With the development of science, we are thinking that bhajana of Bhagavan is not required. But this is absolutely necessary. One who is giving everything, whether at least we shouldn't say thanks to Him? The intelligence of scientists is given by Krishna. No one can challenge Bhagavan. This is Bhagavan's creation. We are staying here. So, we must follow rules and regulations as prescribed by Him. Without help of Iswara no can face the challenges in life, however powerful you may be. Those who want to be in peace and stay happily, they must take shelter of Bhagavan. The results of this life shows that what karma we have performed in our past life. Just like if you are spending Rs. 1 lakh in this month , it means you must have earned it earlier. Based on our karma we have to get our next life. We don't know which body we will get. Bhagavan is there in everyone's heart and giving them intelligence. Life means challenges are there. We have to face them. No one can help us. We need only Iswara's help. We cannot stop birth and death. We cannot say when and how death will happen. Those who are really jnani, they accept that in this material world only sufferings are there. While facing challenges of life, our mind should be very strong. You might have wealth, good health, followers etc but you don't have Bhagavan. One who has mental strength, he will never be defeated. Those who don't have faith on Iswara, they are always in fear. We all aspire for mental peace. For this we must chant Hare Krishna mahamantra and study Srimad Bhagavatam. It's the glories of Hari katha, that when we hear it all sufferings will go away. Bhagavan is Krishna, who is parama purusa / the Supreme person. By hearing Srimad Bhagavatam, soka moha bhayapaha, lamentation, illusion, fear can be eradicated. You don't know whether you will see tomorrow's sun rise, future is uncertain, don't worry for it, past already gone, don't lament for it. If we go on thinking about future only and neglect present, you will get sufferings only. We should know that our family members were not with us in past life and also will not remain in next life. But we are accepting them as our own and becoming illusioned by thinking about their happiness and distress. Human being suffered more due to illusion. We should remember that everything is of Iswara and we don't have anything of our own. We can take care only. We are not master, we don't have control on anything. The formula for not to be bothered for past, present and future is we must remember Bhagavan and chant His holy name. Everyone wants that his family should remain in peace. This is possible if you remain satisfied whatever you got. If you snatch from others, you can never be happy. If we give sufferings to others, we have to also suffer for it. As you sow, so you reap. Karma is just like shadow of our body. We cannot check it. Only Bhagavan can change it. However clever you may be, you can never be in peace in this material world without Krishna. By hearing Srimad Bhagavatam one will be free from lamentation, illusion and fear. Moreover, he can develop bhakti. Bhakti is the strength of mind. If you chant Holy Name, your mind will become balanced. You cannot live even for one day without mercy of Iswara. One who says that what is the need of Iswara, he should understand that he is living having family for such a long period, this is abadana/ contribution of Iswara. One who is in bhakti, he will not become imbalanced. We will hear from 3rd canto, 29th, 30th and 31st chapter. This is discussion between Bhagavan Kapila deva and his mother Devahuti. Here we can understand how jiva is suffering by forgetting Bhagavan. Devahuti married to Kardama rishi. One who want to have gruhastha life, he has to be a rishi means jnani. One can remain happy in married life if he has 3 things. 1. Your son should remain under your control. 2. Wife acts according to your wish. 3. Remain satisfied whatever wealth you have got. Bhagavan Kapila deva has explained even people are performing bhakti, why they are remaining in different stages. How one can get pure bhakti. This material world is also called sansruti means coming to (birth) and going from(death) this material world is going on. We got this body due to attachment. As per our desire at the time of death, Bhagavan will give us another body after death. Without becoming free from desires, we can never stop the cycle of birth and death. During death we will remember such thing, which we have done throughout our lives. This life is very uncertain. At any time death may arrive. Mother Devahuti is asking questions to Kapila deva (1) to enlighten her how she can remain unattached even if staying in this material world. And how she can become free from the cycle of birth and death. (2) Kala/ time factor is the form of Bhagavan, how it is making jiva to perform karma and giving distress. One is performing pious or impious activities with the impact of kala. Please explain. (3) Describe bhakti. We will hear from SB 3.29.38. Kala or time factor is potency of Bhagavan. One can overcome the effect of kala if he takes shelter of Bhagavan. Those who don't accept Bhagavan, Bhagavan will appear as kala. We can live till the days allotted to us. Happiness and distress depends on our past life's activities. No one can change this except Bhagavan. Srila Prabhupada used to say, " one who makes impossible to possible and possible to impossible, He is God." We can win over wealth, win over knowledge etc but cannot win over kala. Those persons can win over kala, who used to chant Holy Name of Bhagavan, take shelter of Bhagavan. With mercy of Bhagavan, He allows them to win. Therefore, sadhus never die. Sadhus used to wear saffron clothes means they are getting ready to die. Otherwise, one has to accept another body. Sadhus don't want another body, they want to go back, back to Godhead. Bhagavan has home, where no need to change any body. Bhagavan has said, during death who remembers Me, he comes back to My abode. Then he will not come back again to this miserable world. You may perform activities for your body and bodily relationships but your aim should be how to go back, back to Godhead. When Srila Prabhupada was in Vrindavan, he has explained nicely to his disciples how to stay in this material world with this example. “Few women were carrying pots filled with waters on their heads, carrying children in their hands, putting wet clothes on shoulders, they were walking and talking with each other, however they are focused on the water pots on their heads so that they will not fall down. They had willing, feeling and desires internally. However, their aim was on the water pots. They were careful that if they become imbalance, it will fall down and destroyed.” So, our aim should be like that. This body will be finished one day. Before that in my consciousness Krishna should live. That's why Srila Prabhupada has named this society as International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Our aim is how to spread Krishna Consciousness all over the world. Even though we will perform day to day activities but we should aim for how Krishna should always remain in our consciousness. We should know how life remains under the control of kala / time factor if we don't practice Hari bhakti. Kala gives us sufferings in every stage if we don't perform bhakti of Bhagavan. Hare Krishna!
