Maestro Ilayaraja went above and beyond his giant predecessors like MSV, KVM, GR, RDB, Salil etc.! RDB in 1982 after listening to his song "Yedho mogam" said "IR is ahead of us all by 10 years"! Salil said, looking at the guitarist in his troupe, "This guy is going to be India's greatest composer one day". That guitarist was none other than ILAYARAJA! Naushad said in 1986 while launching IR's How to name it album "There is so much to learn from Ilayaraja". MSV said “I am his fan”. Music directors from all over INDIA like Keeravani, DSP, Mani Sharma, Hamsalekha, M. Jayachandran, M.G. Sreekumar, Sean Roldan, Anand-Milind & Ajay-Atul consider Maestro IR as demi-God. IR music was/is "propagated" word of mouth; or through people listening to it getting enamored by the sheer beauty of his divine music! ZERO PR gimmicks or flattery / faux humility to impress "fans". IR also helped MSV and also co-composed with the latter and Dakshinamurthy. He held a memorial concert for MSV and donated the proceeds to MSV's family. That is how you respect seniors. Ganesh is clueless about background scores. Why ask him about the GENIUS Ilayaraja who is the kind that is born only once during the entire phase of Planet Earth?

@@BC999 lol, ever heard of the name Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Since you bring in other composers praising Raja, Raja himself said that “another Mozart has not been born since his death in 1791”. Mozart composed 41 symphonies (Raja would tell you that one symphony is worth like 200 movies) in his short life and is believed to have composed more but not credited for. Now, before you say that he was born in Europe and so had it easy, nope, he didn’t. This is not the Europe we know now. This was war torn Europe, there was the French Revolution that started in 1789, 2 years before Mozart’s death but that should kind of give an idea on the state of Europe at the time. No one who has an iota of music sense will have any doubt that Raja is a genius and is undoubtedly the most prolific, versatile composer India has produced but let’s not discredit other composers, especially the western classical composers of yesteryears. This world has seen musicians like Mozart, Bach (father of counterpoints, one who Raja reveres btw), Chopin etc and will see more great musicians. If you still say that Raja is the *only* one of his “kind” of composer who will be born only once, then… Good for you.

WHO is Ganesh to answer this question?! Is that even an answer to the question?! Is Rajesh so jobless that he is looking to attract bugs via clickbait videos? Ganesh is ALWAYS "against" Ilayaraja. He even laughed (mocked at) when Vairamuthu took an indirect dig at IR in an event to felicitate P. Susheela. MSV said "I am his fan" with Ilayaraja and TKR standing beside him. IR has always revered MSV as maanaseega guru and fondly refers to him as "Anna". Shankar-Ganesh's most popular tunes including the BGM of Aattukkaara Alamelu are XEROX COPIES from various sources, and the late Shankar was the actual composer. "Thiruduvadhil" dhaan evLo perumai?!

எத்தனையோ சிவாஜி MGR படங்கள் வெற்றி கண்டது MSV இசையால். அந்த காலத்தில் பேசும் படம் பொம்மை magazine இந்த விவரங்களை எழுது‌ம். Pattikaadaa pattanama வெள்ளி விழா மர்மம் இசை என்று கூறியது. 100 நாட்கள் ஓடியது அவர் இசையால் மட்டுமே. MSV இறந்த போது ரஜினிகாந்த் ithai பற்றி சொன்னார். அவ‌ர் KB, Sridhar போன்ற இயக்குனர்களையும் குறிப்பிட்டார்

@@manikanthan4693this is a very poor argument. At the time, people only had movies for entertainment. That is why even movies that belong in the bin ran for 25 days. There was no cable Tv or music apps or RU-vid in the 80s. Many were still reliant on all India radio and “oLiyum oliyum” to listen to Tamil songs. Ramarajan, Rajkiran, et al would have no hope in today’s world as heroes. Raja’s music is as great now as it was then. Why are all his movies not running for songs? Times have changed. Example: “ninaivellam neeyada”. Songs are really good (you should hear them if you are a Raja fan) but hardly anyone knows that there was a movie that released by that name. Just like how commercial success alone cannot define the quality of music, neither do such news. Raja’s music was quality. His music helped in the success of the movies surely.

இந்தி பாடல்கள் புகழ் பெற எம் எஸ் வி யும் ஒரு காரணம்....இளையராஜா இசையை 45 வருடமாய் கேட்கிறார்கள் என்பது மறுக்கமுடியாத உண்மை....இந்தியை துரத்தியவர் இளையராஜா.இன்றைய காலகட்டத்தில் தமிழ் இசையே மிகச்சிறந்தது எனும் ஒரு கால கட்டத்தில் இருக்கிறோம்...இங்கு இளையராஜா சாயல் இல்லாமல் யாரும் இசை அமைக்க முடியாது....

இது தவறான கருத்து நண்பரே இளையராஜா ஒரு சிறந்த இசையமைப்பாளர். நமது தமிழகத்திற்கு கிடைத்த மாபெரும் பொக்கிஷம். ஆனால் ரஹ்மான் கீரவாணி இவர்களின் பாணி இளையராஜாவின் பாணி அல்ல முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்டது. இவர்களும் 35 வருடங்களாக பயணித்து இசையிலகில் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்

வணக்கம் நண்பரே தாங்கள் அப்படி சொல்வது தவறு. வல்லவனுக்கு வல்லவன் வையகத்தில் உண்டு என்பதை புரிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும். நானும் இளையராஜாவின் திறமையை உளமார போற்றுபவன். ஆனால் அவர் ஒருவர் மட்டுமே சிறந்தவர் என்பது தவறு. சிறந்த இசையமைப்பாளர்களில் இளையராஜாவும் ஒருவர் என்பதுதான் உண்மை. நன்றி

For ur Information during MSV time media was extremely weak. I saw MSV photos 5 yrs after listening to his legendary songs. He had no exposure at all. Yet he composed a long play amazing music pieces which was a sold out. Yet he was sooooo humble. IR is only humble towards MSV. Not to others. If MSV had the exposure he would have gone to himalaya level. Till this day no one can touch MSV"s melodies. He was the first one to introduce theme music in tamil cinema especially Sivaji movies which made many break down. That is the great Man MSV. Music wizard Naushad form bombay fell st MSV feet after listening to paava manippu songs. Shankar Jaikishan and RD Burman and many more had so much respect and love for MSV. MSV and TMS are the only duo who immensley contributed toward making an actor become a CM. The one and only team in tamil cinema- Kannadhasan,MSV,TMS and Sivaji that made history. No comparsion at all

Ilayaraja also has a Swathi Muthyam, Sagara Sangamam, Guru / Pazhassi Raja (Malayalam), Bharathi etc. And, remember TKR was the assistant music director for KarNan (for 20 years, it was MSV-TKR). IR NEVER had any assistant music director!

If so, they are UNAWARE of his "working style" - sampling, outsourcing, using his musicians' inputs etc. Even a RU-vid musician is talented and a "creator" per se. So what?! It is Arr who "followed" MSV, and also remixed his songs. IR NEVER imitated anyone, and is also a composer that is hard to emulate! இளையராஜா பின்னணி இசை பற்றி கேள்வி கேட்டால் சம்பந்தமே இல்லாமல் பேசுகிறார் கணேஷ். MSV is the greatest music director of all time in every aspects. Othrs had their good time on their respective eras. Listen his Maan Kanda Sorkkangal 1981, which answers any confusions, why he is greatest of good. This is just one example, but for argument shake , can trace back to his 50's to Nilave Malare 1986. In between thousands. In Jaffna, the time of the new arrival of someone 1976, was never paid any attention to as MSV was fondly announced " Mellisai mannar " only by RadioCeylon. We lived through those years as, Rajesh has an agenda to hush up the facts. We Jaffna peaple do not get anything out of it, but reply back to his motive to establish his wish pre-eminent in music .We live in the most advanced country in the world, as our next generation at home is 🎼 🎵 PROS, as profession. In their own unbiased analysis, MSV stands out as the GREATEST of all time easily, while they still respect others work too. But to sum this up, when & what was done, thereby MSV is the clear WINNER.

நீங்க American ஆ. தமிழன் மாதிரி பேசுங்க. இன்றைக்கும் அண்ணன் தங்கை பாட்டு என்றாவ். மலர்ந்து மலராத பாடல். எந்த komban பாட்டும் இல்லை.. இந்தியர்கள் அமெரிக்கா Australia எல்லாம் கேட்பது MSV பாடல்கள். 1961 முதல் 81 வரை 20 ஆ‌ண்டு ஆட்சி புரிந்தார். இ‌ந்த ஞானி 1982 முதல் 92 வரை மட்டும் தான். ARR தேவா வருகை ஞானி காணமல் போய்விட்டார். IRக்கு தெரியும் MSV மகிமை பற்றி. அதனால் என்னுள் MSV என்று programme போட்டார். இசை அறிய அவருடைய fans அடிக்கிற கூத்து இது. நேரம் தான் வீணா போகும் இது பற்றி பேசினால்.

@@ramleo100 Just listen 🎶 to the BGM in Netrikkan during the intro of negative rajini and then decide who has used the technology to its fullest 🤔 Nowadays technology improved a lot than ever but ARR & Ani haven't created anything better than Maestro had created in 80s with lesser technology than now. So that its not about technology its all about in born wisdom which ilayaraja naturally born with. Listen to the music of vishwanathan after the death of ramamoorthy (after 70s) ... it's nothing but jarring and jolting.

How on earth 🌎 you have decided those are sub standard ones 🤔 SPB & Janaki both breathed life to Maestro's music 🎶 by their lively and versatile singing style 😉 Listen to பூவெடுத்து வைக்கணும் பின்னால , இது மௌனமான நேரம் , ஜெர்மனியின் செந்தேன் மலரே , பூப்போட்ட தாவணி etc list is very very huge. Another interesting thing is Maestro is the first one to compose two different tunes between சரணம் & பல்லவி .... if you want more ask me I will send you more about Maestro's magic with music 🎶 🎵

I've been living in Australia for many decades. However, this morning, due to some strong sadness in me, I wanted to just believe that the whole world is just a stage for me and I just have to forget all the sorrows. Then, I sang Ulagam pirandhathu enakkaga spontaneously. Then, I watch this video by chance (because, I love listening to this truly down-to-earth great music director talking) in the night and, here we go, the same song has been discussed and sang by Ganesh sir. Couldn't believe this.

திரு. ராஜேஷ் தயவு செய்து "அவள் ஒரு தொடர்கதை" கிளைமாக்ஸ் இசையை டயலாக் இல்லாமல் பாருங்கள் முழுக்காட்சியும் BGM இருந்தது. இது போல் வேறு படங்களில்த நான் நினைக்கவில்லை. டயலாக்கை விட அதிகமாக பேசும் பல BGMகள் உள்ளன. சில படங்களில் குறிப்பிட்ட காட்சிகளில் வசனம் மற்றும் நடிகருக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்க BGM இல்லாமல் காட்சியை விட்டுவிட்டார். அதுதான் எம்.எஸ்.வி

இளையராஜா இசையமைத்த பாடல்களில் ஆரம்பகால பாடல்கள் மட்டுமே கேட்பதற்கு இனிமையானவை முக்கால்வாசி பாடல்கள் எல்லாம் குப்பை மாங்குயிலே பூங்குயிலே மானே தேனே பொன்மானே கான கருங்குயிலே பைங்கிளி பண்பாடுதே என்ற வார்த்தைகளைத்தான் இவர் பாடல்களில் மிக அதிகமாக பயன்படுத்துவார் இளையராஜா பாடல்களை கேட்டால் தூக்கம் மட்டுமே வரும் இளையராஜாவை வைத்துக்கொண்டு மேடையில் அவரை கலாய்த்தவர் பார்த்திபன்

விஸ்வநாதன் ராமமூர்த்தி கூட்டணி இசையைப் பார்த்து தான் இளையராஜா இசையை கற்றுக் கொண்டார் இளையராஜாவுக்கு வரும் புகழ் தன்னிச்சையாகவே விஸ்வநாதன் ராமமூர்த்திக்கு போய் சேரும் விஸ்வநாதன் ராமமூர்த்தி போட்ட வாதையில்தான் இளையராஜா வந்தார்

இளையராஜா மேற்கத்திய இசைக் கருவிகள் பயன்படுத்தினார். மேலும் டிரம்ஸ் அதிகமாக பயன்படுத்தினார். அதுவும் ஜாஸ் இசையை பயன்படுத்தி பாடல்களை வெளியிட்டார். ஆனால் MSV மேடைப் பாடல்களுக்கு மட்டுமே மேற்கத்திய இசையைப் பயன்படுத்தினார். ஆனால் இளையராஜா அனைத்துப் பாடல்களையும் மேற்கத்திய இசை வடிவில் தந்தார்.
