I understood many facts and history behind the reservation from your speech. We miss our forefather such as Periyar, Ambedkar, Kamaraj and Dr MK. Most importantly you have clarified why the 'Economy' can't be a factor to consider for reservation. People who studied medicine and engg. In 50's and 60's are mostly bramins only . But in those days bramins won't get 90% or 98%. They just got 60%. And qualify for higher studies. They are not so brilliant. Those days no competition. So they got higher studies easily. So they got literacy two or three generations before. They got every thing two or three generations before itself. Now they are advanced in every aspect. So they don't need any reservation now on behalf of economic status.

Thanthai Periyar and Dravidian movement developed Tamil Nadu in terms of socio-economic ranking with in top 3 states. In terms of social justice and inclusive development and successful reservation policy, Tamil Nadu top the list. Nobel Laureates from Europe compared the Health and medical services in Tamil Nadu equivalent to Scandinavian Countries. People who are greedy and selfish and want exclusive growth only for them must their mind and widen their understanding of Periyarism and DK movements. Thanthai Periyar was a Hindu and follower of Gandhiji until 1925. Periyar was against the "varnasharam (e based)” practice and was not convinced with the responses to this evil practice from Gandhiji or the Congress party. That and other social evils of the society made Periyar to start “Self-Respect Movement (SRM)”. SRM movement is dedicated to achieve a society where all are equal human (eless) and their rights (human rights) must be protected and people must have self-respect in the context of a e-based society that considered them to be a lower end of the hierarchy. Periyar relentlessly fought for human rights, equality without discrimination based on e, religion or gender, for widow marriage, abolition of Devadasi tem and to restore their prestige as custodians of Bharatnatyam and Music, reservation policy, against hindi impostition, against superstitions, for temple entry for untouchables and many more social reforms. Globally, these principles are enshrined under the UN resolutions and all advanced and modern nations are fully committed to these dogmas of SRM. Is SRM anti-brahmin? Then let it be DK leader Paerasiryar Veeramani is leading the DK movement in the right direction with focus on social justice and includive growth for all.

Where does it affect you ? It is good move for economically weaker section.

Fundamental basis for reservations: 1. Take the poverty among es..its highest in SC/ST and BC.. Forward es own more than disproportionate wealth. Brahmin enjoyed free housing in Temple properties in agraharam and possess most temple kattalai lands. Varnasharam tem only educate brahmins. So is there a level playing field? NEVER 2. Learning environment is not available to underprivileged SC/ST and BC compared to privileged es. Also most of the SC/ST and BC live in Rural India and severly handicapped in terms of quality education and exposure to developments and advancements. UNEVEN AND DISADVATAGED SITUATION. 3. In a uneven playing field reservation is a must. More than 90% of jobs were taken by 10% of the privileged population. Then how to ensure equality and social justice... 4. I am surprised how selfish we as a society and we lost social perception. We are not bothered to grow together as a nation. 5. Let us touch our conciousness and ask the almighty to guide us to treat all Indians equally and share and uplift all together. 6. EVR PERIYAR fought for Antidiscrimation, and social justice and fought for reservations..in Tamil Nadu which is successful. Now we can see Tamil SC/BC ARE EMPLOYED in the USA and everywhere . There is no reservation in the USA for SC/BC. 7. The top schools and colleges are managed by Christian missionaries. Most of these educational institutions are managed by the the SC/ST and BC and most of the so called elites were taught by these underprivileged people. Those teachers were treated hither to either as untouchables are sudras but they could teach all of us and make us good educated citizens. 8. Merit is conveniently abused. If opportunity is given to all of them, everyone has the inherent merit that needs exposure to an enabling environment and thats what reservations are all about. Let us stop all these selfish cry against reservations. Let us help to enable all of us to grow together to make India the Great

He talks about the amendment, but purposely without details. In the Original Constitution as written by the Constituent Assembly headed by Dr.Ambedkar, there was no reservation for the so-called Backward communities It was very consciously done by the Constituent Assembly, after deep deliberation. No mention about BC in the original constitution. Only Scheduled Caste and the Scheduled Tribes were provided with reservation in the Original Constitution since they were THE REALLY OPPRESSED PEOPLE identified for uplifting. Now we have 50% for others.. In Madras State at that time, they were following a Reservation System - which nothing but a share in the loot for all, (even after the coming into being of the Constitution) to the backward communities who were Zamindas, Lardlords, Rao Sahib etc. When the Supreme Court has not agreed to the Madras System, people when to Nehru and told him that he will be defeated in the First General Election because BC population will not vote for him and Congress will lose power in Centre and in all States. So, the FIRST CONSTITUION AMENDMENT was made in 1952, just before elections, to provide for BC reservation, similar to SC. It was nothing but a fraud on the Constitution. This First wrong circle made by Nehru under pressure politics and for Vote Bank politics, made all the further things ugly in the coming years. This RU-vid Speaker did not tell that important thing, though he talked about .....some..... amendment without elaborating the fact for whose favour it was made.

Who said that Supreme Court will not allow reservation above 50%? This is not a constitutional matter for the Courts to determine the quota. Its a policy matter for the GOI to determine the quota. Unfortunately, Supreme Court overstepped its authority and the GOI took shelter under that wrong decision, deliberately or incompetently. Second, among the OBC as you rightly pointed out less than 7% are graduate and they can never enter the job market. That being the case all arguments including the creamy layer argument are sinister attempts to knock-out reservation for OBC. The best way to conduct survey is the caste-wise population and share of public and private sector jobs by each category of caste. The wealth share must also be studied among various caste groups. Well, “creamy layer categorization (CLC)” has no merit as well as has some merit if sincerely implemented. The proponents of CLC are mostly anti-reservationist. They remind the Tamil proverb “why wolves are worried about a lamb being soaked by rain”! In the past, when reservation was introduced the quotas were unutilized and filled by the “top creamy layer” in the society (not the CL among SC or BC or OBC). The CLC is another way to leave the quotas unfilled so that the “creamiest layers of other unreserved categories will stand benefit. Let us see the reality and be sensible. The poorest among the SC, BC and OBC could not afford to educate their children and will never enter the job market! If CLC proponents are honest and sincere, then they must argue to provide full financial support to the poorest among the SC or BC and OBC so that they can enter the job market to compete. Until then the so called CLC is another way of denying the SC or BC or OBC the opportunities.

You are justifying pure oppurtunism. steps were on for justifying and continual tune up of these reservation criteria. listen to your speech by yourself.
