You think Pakistan or China won't develop a counter measures for India's ballistic missiles defense? They will just deploy more MIRV capable ballistic missiles with multiple decoys to fool India's BMD. This is a very expensive system to develop and maintain and at the end is useless as the enemy will always figure a way around it. Just ask the Americans how many tens of billions they pouring into maintaining thier BMD even when it's showing low success rate of intercept. Pakistan will be happy to see India waste money like this as they can always deploy more MIRV which is so much cheaper than having BMD..

@tp_defense, last I check Pakistan already have MIRV capable ballistic missiles capable of 8 independent warheads + decoys. Any ballistic missile defense system can be overwhelmed when MIRVs are involved. How do you differentiate between a decoy and an actual nuclear warhead. Same way how S-400 was overwhelmed when Ukraine used decoys together with actual missiles to overwhelm and deplete S-400 interceptors. Also having BMD will defeat Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) doctrine. I personally against deployment of BMD by any nuclear power including India or Pakistan that will defeat MAD. This will create false feeling of invincibility and will make that nuclear power to act more recklessly or commit a first strike.
