Even we have a maid in our house. We allow 4 paid leaves a month. Some months she doesn't take leave at all, or maybe just 1 leave. Even service industry gives 2 days off per week to each employee. They have multiple employees on a shift basis to cover weekends/nights. If the teacher wants she can hire a second helper for weekends. But no one does it as they don't want to pay more. She says "machine life" when she gets 2 days off, then what is the life of the helper that doesn't get any days off?

Everybody blaming the teacher as though she is the only one like that in our entire state. Reality is vast majority people has the same mindset as hers, not only regarding maids, as a society we seriously lack empathy towards basically anything. We have the tendency to turn blind eyes towards many humans and animals who are suffering. Very few has the empathy to help others or even think about the problem of others.
That's not totally true. A lot of them try to help. But the problem is they think they own them since they are servents. Only when we consider our co-human as human this pblm would be solved. Most of us have the tendency to walk right past them without any second thought. Yes, not everyone is like that, but sadly most are. Oh my goodness this talk show opened these people's eyes and made them think. People put a blame on tradition and treat people this way.
