Seeni sambal minus the spices is a very old recipe from deep south n Sri Lanka. In the raw version, grated coconut is added with lime juice and a pinch of sugar. In the cooked version, its tamarind with a hint of jaggery. Crushed dry tuna flakes are also added for the non veg version.
