Recipe
Dry roast moong dhal for 2 minutes.
wash and soak rice & dhal together for 20 minutes
Boil 3.5 Glass water and add rice & dhal, cook for 3 whistles.
( If you cook in open pot, can add 4.5 glass water )
Crush Jaggery, add 2 glass Jaggery and 1/2 glass water., boil it for 2,3 minutes. ( If you want less sweet, add 1.5 glass Jaggery )
Add Jaggery syrup in cooked pongal, mix.
Add cardamon dry ginger powder.
In ghee fry cashew, dry grapes, add it.
Add ghee over it, cook 2 minutes.
My Suggestions..
Don't add milk or coconut milk for pongal,.. it will lessen the colour and flavour of Jaggery, sometimes milk may curdle.
Only measure rice... not dhal
rice : water : Jaggery
1: 3 : 2
You Can fry Grated coconut or cocont pieace in ghee and add.
Serve hot, with a spoon of ghee over it along banana pieces
