1. India's first multi-state cooperative society for exports, the National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL), will promote the country's organic products and share half its returns with farmers.
2. The Indian government's fertilizer subsidy bill is expected to reach around ₹2 lakh crore in the current fiscal year, with 96% of the phosphorus (P) and potash (K) subsidy allocation for the whole year already exhausted in just six months.
3. Indian traders import onions from Afghanistan as prices spiral in the domestic market - Imported onions are heading to the fresh farm produce market in Delhi.

Union consumer affairs secretary Rohit Kumar Singh on Thursday emphasized the need for a partnership between India and Brazil for the import of pulses and urged businessmen and officials of Brazil to grow pulses, especially tur (pigeon pea) and urad (black gram) to cater to the demand of India’s 1.4 billion population amid falling production and growing demand.
9. Newly launched co-op society Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Ltd (BBSSL) has an authorised share capital of Rs 500 crore and will work in collaboration with various agricultural organisations to promote seed production, conservation, and research efforts.
