Operation meghadooth- పాకిస్థాన్ సైన్యం సియాచిన్ హిమనీ నదాన్ని(ప్రపంచంలోనే ఎత్తయిన యుద్ధ క్షేత్రం) ఆక్రమించుకోవడనికి ప్రయత్నిస్తున్న సమయంలో నాటి ఇందిరాగాంధీ గారి ప్రభుత్వం 1984 లో ఆపరేషన్ మేఘదూత్ ను చేపట్టి విజయవంతం గా పాక్ బలగాలను తిప్పి కొట్టారు. ఈ విజయానికి గుర్తు గా 2003లో అప్పటి రాష్ట్రపతి డాక్టర్ ఏపీజే అబ్దుల్ కలాం ఆపరేషన్ మేఘ్‌దూత్‌లో మోహరించిన దళాలను సందర్శించారు. ఈ విధంగా సైనికులను కలిసిన తొలి భారత రాష్ట్రపతిగా, రక్షణ దళాల సుప్రీం కమాండర్‌గా ఆయన రికార్డు సృష్టించారు.
