Bunts were in Tulunadu much before the Brahmins and they are the descendants of the Alupas, a ruling dynasty of ancient Tulunadu. So this prestigious Bunt house could not have come to the Bunts from Brahmins. 'Prashne' is done by Brahmins and they obviously will falsely claim that they were the original inhabitants. Badoor is Beedu/Barige according to an Architect the late Harish Hegde, who was making a study of old Bunt houses, and unfortunately passed away before he could publish his findings. Badoor house historically, according to the 'Paadanna' oral tradition, was the commander house in Vittla Seema around 150 years ago....'onji ittala chavadi, onji Badoor chavadi'....for Jatadhaari daiva . Badoor held the top position in Vittla Seeme those days apparently. This house was transferred to Kumble seeme because the Vittla king apparently found it difficult to control Badoor and surrounding areas due to logistics. Brahminization of the original Tulu culture eventually led to distortion of history and even to changes in dieties names in some cases (ex-' Rakteshwari' for 'Lekkesiri', 'Dhoomavathi' for 'Jumadi' etc. More research is necessary to find out the true history...

'Bhootaradhane' was an ancient tradition that predated 'Vedic culture' and during the early days only the Bunts, Billawas, Madiwalas, Sherigaras and other Tuluva communities along with the aboriginal communities like Pambadas, Paravas ,Nalikedhakulu etc were involved in 'Daiva' worship....

We know that Bunts came to Tulu Nadu earlier than Brahmins , but in this particular place "Badooru" it could be the brahmins who settled here earlier than the present Bunt family.And before the Brahmins it could have been the land of Jain Kings who could have given this land to Brahmins to look after the temples .We cannot rule out the possibilities.

There is no mention of the Brahmins ever being in this house in any 'Paddanas' or any written records. There is however a tradition of 'Saithnakleg balasune ', (serving a feast for ancestors in which a vegetarian portion is reserved for the Jain ancestor...mind you...ancestor, not overlord. It is an accepted fact that Jain Buntas are derived from Bunts ( refer to history of Tulunadu written by A.B.Saletore and Gururaj Bhat). Gururaj Bhat, in fact visited Badoor house along with Susheela Upadhyaya and her husband and mentions the house in his magnum opus.. It is only logical that the older ruling class who were Naga worshippers and later Shaivates got attracted to Jainism and bigger families and chieftains converted to Jainism during its peak and then of course married to Jain families from other parts and got separated from their original community. Later, when there was a renaissance of Hinduism there was obviously a return to the original faith..

Badooru gutthu is. In Kasaragod district but as per seeme records it comes under vittla seeme first house of vittla seeme.... Innkumble seeme ichlampady is first house
