One of my favorite Laddus, Hesaru Hittu Unde is rich in taste, and nutrition and is easy to make as well. It can be made for festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Nagarapanchami, or Deepavali. Or you can prepare it during regular days for good health and enjoyment of your family members.
It is made out of Moog Dal or Hesaru Bele, which is considered to be the most nutritious and healthy among all pulses.

Ingredients:
Moong Dal - 1 Cup
Sugar - 3/4 Cup
Cardamom - 3
Ghee/Clarified Butter - 1/4 Cup
Cashew Nuts - 20-25
Method:
1. Add 1 Cup of Moong Dal to a pan. Roast the Moong Dal on medium flame until they turn golden in color. Roast the Dal till the Moong Dals roast well. If not roasted well, the raw smell of Dal may appear in the Ladoo/Laddu. It will take about 8-10 minutes time to roast Moong Dal. Roast till Dal changes color and aroma from roasted Dal appears. Transfer the roasted Moong Dal to a plate and allow it to cool.
2. Once the Moong Dal is cooled completely, add it to a mixer jar and grind them. Grind the Moong Dal till they turn to smooth powder. Sieve the Moong Dal Flour through the sieve. By sieving the flour, the coarse Moong Dal will be filtered out. Do not use the coarse powder for Ladoo/Laddu.
3. To the mixer jar that was used to grind roasted Dal, add 3/4 Cup of Sugar. Add the seeds after removing the outer covering of the 3 Cardamoms. Grind these ingredients - Sugar and Cardamom seeds. Powder them to a very fine powder.
4. Add the powdered Sugar to the powdered Moong Dal and mix everything with the help of a spoon.
5. Add 1/4 Cup Ghee/Clarified Butter to a pan. Once the Ghee melts, add 20-25 Cashew Nuts and roast them till they turn golden in color. Add this immediately to the Powdered Moong Dal and Sugar mixture. Mix well with the help of a spoon.
6. Once the mixture turns warm, mix well with the help of your hand. Just take a little portion of the mixture and make Laddu once. If the Laddu mixture has acquired the consistency seen in the video, you can prepare Laddu/Ladoo. Else, add an extra 1 Tbsp of melted Ghee, mix well, and prepare Laddu/Ladoo.
7. If the mixture is too powdery, then the Ladoo feels very dry when consumed. Take a little portion of the mixture and start making Laddus/Ladoos. The heat in the hand will melt the Ghee turning the mixture soft. So you can't get the perfect shape initially. Continue making Laddus/Ladoos till the mixture is finished.
8. With the measurement given by me and the size of the Laddus seen here, I made 16 Laddus/Ladoos. Leave the Laddus/Ladoos for an hour on the same plate. Once cooled, the Laddus/Ladoos will become harder. After an hour, shape the Laddus/Ladoos again with the help of your two hands to obtain a perfectly round shape. Repeat the same for all the Laddus/Ladoos.
9. When they are too soft, they will stick to each other when kept in a box and hence wait for some time before transferring to a box. If you follow the steps described for making Laddus, they will last long for nearly 15 days. Quality cooking wares that I love and recommend. ತುಂಬಾ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಅಕ್ಕ. ಹೆಸರುಬೇಳೆ ಮೊದಲು ತೊಳೆಯುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ?

ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು. ಹೆಸರುಬೇಳೆಯನ್ನು ಬೇಕಾದ್ರೆ ತೊಳೆಯಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದು ಬೇಗ ಹುರಿಬೇಕು. ಹಾಗೇ ಹುರಿಯೋದ್ರಿಂದ ಹೆಸರುಬೇಳೆ ಗರಿ ಗರಿಯಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತೆ. So ಅದು ಉಂಡೆಗೆ ರುಚಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೆ. ಹೇಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ್ರೂ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. ನಾನು ಇಲ್ಲಿವರೆಗೂ ತೊಳೆದು ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ.
