പള്ളിവിളക്ക് ദക്ഷിണ കേരളത്തിലെ ക്ഷേത്രസംസ്‌കാരത്തിൻ്റെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ഘടകമാണ്. ഇത് മരം കൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയ വിളക്കാണ്, കേരളത്തിലെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഭദ്രകാളിയെപ്പോലുള്ള ദേവീ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകൾ ഉളള ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഇത് പ്രതീകാത്മകവും ആചാരപരവുമായ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ളതാണ്. ഈ വിളക്കുകൾ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലെ വിവിധ ചടങ്ങുകളിലും ആചാരങ്ങളിലും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന പവിത്രമായ വസ്തുക്കളായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. അവ എണ്ണയും തിരികളും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കത്തിക്കുന്നു,
പള്ളിവിളക്ക് ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന തടി സാധാരണയായി പ്ലാവ് , മാവ് , തേക്ക് തുടങ്ങിയവ, അവയുടെ ഈട്, സൗന്ദര്യാത്മകത ആകർഷണം എന്നി അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നു . ഈ വിളക്കുകൾ നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന കരകൗശല നൈപുണ്യം വളരെ ബഹുമാനിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, പലപ്പോഴും ഈ നൈപുണ്യം മരം കൊത്തുപണിയിൽ വൈദഗ്ദ്ധ്യമുള്ള വിദഗ്ധരുടെ തലമുറകളിലൂടെ കൈമാറ്റം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.
അന്ധകാരവും അജ്ഞതയും അകറ്റുന്നതിൻ്റെയും ദിവ്യകാരുണ്യത്തിൻ്റെയും ജ്ഞാനോദയത്തിൻ്റെയും ആഹ്വാനത്തിൻ്റെയും പ്രതീകമായി പള്ളിവിളക്ക് ദേവതയ്ക്കുള്ള വഴിപാടായി കാണുന്നു. ഇത് ക്ഷേത്ര ആചാരങ്ങളുടെ അവിഭാജ്യ ഘടകമാണ്, കൂടാതെ വിശുദ്ധ സ്ഥലത്തിൻ്റെ ആത്മീയ അന്തരീക്ഷം സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
The Pallivilakku is an important component of the temple culture in South Central Kerala. It is made of wood and is of symbolic and ceremonial importance in temples in Kerala, especially those with deities of goddesses like Bhadrakali. Pallivilakku is considered sacred and used in annual celebrations and rituals in temples. They burn with oil and cotton flints।
The wood used to make the Pallivilakku is usually Jack, Mangotree, teak, etc., which is chosen on the basis of its durability and aesthetic appeal. The craftsmanship involved in making Pallivilakku is highly respected and often passed down through generations of skilled woodworkers.
The Pallivilakku is seen as an offering to the Goddess as a symbol of dispelling darkness and ignorance, divine mercy, enlightenment and invocation. It is an integral part of temple rituals and preserves the spiritual atmosphere of the holy place.
