Mahindra launched its first electric SUV - XUV400 Electric into the Indian market this year 2023 raising a steep competition with Tata's Nexon Electric. The XUV400 is built on its XUV300 platform with a increased length of 205 mm (4200 mm) with an increased wheel base of 2600 mm and with a large boot of 378 Liters. മൂന്നാറിലോട്ട് കയറുമ്പോൾ 310 റേഞ്ച് കിട്ടുന്നുണ്ടെകിൽ നാട്ടിൽ 400 അടുപ്പിച് കിട്ടും. വർഷം 15000 km ഓടുന്നവർക്ക് electric car ലഭമാണ്.

Hello, What is your opinion about buying a Electric Car or Petrol Car or upcoming EVs in 2024 starting or Mid. I have seen many reviews about the Tiago EV. Some mention that when driving in the rain or through waterlogged areas, the car suddenly stops due to water getting inside the car. Is it a good option to buy an EV now or waiting for new models? I am taking a loan for this purpose, and with the rising petrol prices, it makes sense to consider an EV to save on fuel costs, which I can be used to pay the EMI. I am buying the car for family purposes, and we don't do long rides daily. I working out of station and come home only on weekends or monthly one time. We need to visit family members once a month, and the distance is around 75 km one way, so 150 km in total. The rest of the time, the car will be in the garage, and we would use it only in rare cases like for hospital visits, shopping, or urgent matters. So, what is your opinion? Should I go for an EV? I am particularly concerned about the Tiago EV's issues related to driving in rainy conditions and through waterlogged areas. Previously decided to buy Tiago and move to Punch and move to Altroz, then move to Kiger, but petrol cost and EMI cost would be little trouble so at that time EV in my mind but due to these issues makes me convert to petrol.. I can't afford hybrid cars and looking for budget around 10lak. But now I'm thinking back about EVs. Any suggestions from your side ?

Question is how much value an electric car would depreciate after battery warranty or 1.5 lakh km? After 1.5 km without changing to a new battery which is priced to the half value of the car, car resale value will be zero. Let's calculate the profitability comparison for a 5-year period, considering a person driving 50 km per day, with the fuel car having a mileage of 20 kmpl and a resale value of 50% depreciation and an electric car having 300km in a full charge with 100% depreciation. 1. Electric Car: - Initial Cost: 1,000,000 - Daily Distance: 50 km - Full Charge Mileage: 300 km - Number of Full Charges in 5 years: (50 km / 300 km) * 365 days/year * 5 years = 304 charges (rounded to 304) - Total Electricity Cost for 5 years: 304 charges * 300 = 91,200 - Resale Value: 0 (assumed zero) - Total Cost: Initial Cost + Total Electricity Cost - Resale Value = 1,000,000 + 91,200 - 0 = 1,091,200 2. Fuel Car: - Initial Cost: 1,000,000 - Daily Distance: 50 km - Mileage: 20 kmpl - Fuel Consumption per day: 50 km / 20 kmpl = 2.5 liters - Fuel Cost per day: 2.5 liters * 100 = 250 - Fuel Cost per year: 250 * 365 = 91,250 - Total Fuel Cost for 5 years: 91,250 * 5 = 456,250 - Resale Value: 500,000 - Total Cost: Initial Cost + Total Fuel Cost - Resale Value = 1,000,000 + 456,250 - 500,000 = 956,250 Based on these calculations, the total cost over a 5-year period would be: - Electric Car: 1,091,200 - Fuel Car: 956,250 In advance if there is any logical argument about the resale value of an electric car after the period. Ask yourself as a buyer how much money you would pay for the car after the period?

Batteries are not changed at once, since these are battery packs the defective modules can be changed alone.. Resale value will be at a lower part, but check the difference.. Assuming 15 km mileage for an ICE car, the fuel consumption for running 1.5 lakhs will be 10,000 liters.. Right now per liter cost is Rs. 110 rs for petrol. Hence, 10,000 liters * 110 rs/ liter = 11,00,000 (11 lakhs) Now take the cost for electic car. 1.5 lakhs kilomters will be 500 charging cycles, assuming 300 km per full charge which will cost you Rs. 500 per charge.. So 500 charging cycles * 500 Rs. =2,50,000 rs.. Difference is Rs. 8,50,000

@@shijinbadarudeen9920 not comparing with a specific model., in case of XUV400 9-100 km will take only 8.3 seconds, For Hyundai Kona 0-100 is just 7.9 seconds, Nexon EV its 9 seconds, Hyundai Ionic 5 is just 7.4 seconds to hit 0-100

As always, a pleasure to watch your videos. But it's time that we all get beyond the repeated notion that is always put across that, Electric Vehicles are "Environment Friendly...!" and address the elephant in the room(at least under the current context). EV Battery Manufacturing Cost on Environment (Pollution) is far greater than a Lifetime running Environment Cost(pollution) of a similar ICE vehicle. Also used EV battery disposal is not as simple as disposing of an aged ICE vehicle, add to that the EV vehicle's depreciation in 5-8 years after use as compared to that of an ICE vehicle. But having said the above.....The running cost is less and of course, the running pollution is next to nil in EV's. It is yet to reach a point where it sounds reasonable and practical to be considered as a common man's travel alternative. Big fan of your work but one with a slightly contrasting viewpoint on the subject of EV's.

First off all, im expressing my sincere gratitude for watching my videos.. Thanks a ton❤️. Coming to the topic, i totally agree with you regarding the environmental hazzard caused by EV batteries.. But anyhow the depleting fossil fuels should be replaced with some other cheaper methods like Ev's. The fuel cost is getting in a higher part and affecting the familes in their monthly budget. The Ev's in the present situations helps people to save Money, but there are severe environmental issues of disposing the batteries.. The researches are in progress to solve the issue, mainy the researches are focusing on how to improve the life of the battery's, so that it can used so long to be repalced. Another research topic is, how the used batteries can be used for other purposes, a plan of giving a second life to the used batteries where it can be used as a storage of electricity, until its totally dead... Anyhow, currently environmental issues are pertaining and need to find measures to control it. Once again thanks a lot❤

@peaceBWY101, You are unfortunately entangled in a web of conspiracy theories. You should read credible researches on this very subject by governments, NGOs and independent analysts. What you've written has long been debunked by almost all studies, especially from Scandinavia. Try reading some articles on "Cradle to Grave" emissions of EV vs ICE. This includes the emissions during production, running and recycling of both categories. In a nutshell, even in the worst scenario, a BEV is still 37% less polluting. In best scenario, a BEV is 80% less polluting than ICE.
