Ingredients:
Potatoes- 2,medium
Onion- 1 ,medium
Ginger - a small piece ,finely chopped
Garlic - 3 pods,chopped
Green Chilly - 3,slit,lengthwise
Cinnamon - a small piece
Cardamom- 2
Coriander powder - 1 table spoon
Fennel powder - ¾ tablespoon
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
Coconut Milk - ½ cup
Coconut Oil - as required
Salt - to taste
Wash peeled potatoes and cut into medium sized cubes.
Heat oil in a pan ,add mustard seeds,wilt till it splutters.Add cinnamon,cardamom and sauté for 1 minute.
Add in curry leaves, chopped garlic,ginger,green chilly ,sliced onion and sauté well .
Add potato cubes to this and sauté for 4 minutes.
Add coriander powder,half tablespoon perumjeerakam to this and sauté for 2 minutes .
Add hot water along with required salt.Mix well and cover with a lid.
Cook in a medium flame till gravy thickens and potatoes cooked properly.
Now remove the cover ,lower the flame.Add coconut milk to this and mix well.
Allow it to heat for 2 minutes. Sprinkle ¼ tablespoon perumeerakam powder to this..
Switch off the flame and remove from the stove.
