Nala and Damayanthi got married. Nala and Damayanthi enjoys by talking about various matters and they go to Nala's garden. Damayanthi is astonished to see that beautiful garden. Then they spend some time in the garden. In the next scene, Kali and Dwapara see each other on their way to earth and during their talk, both realise that they are in fact going to the same place - For marrying Damayanthi (Both of them are unaware that Damayanthi is already married). They decided to go together and they see Indra, Agni, Yama and Vayu coming from earth back to heaven. Kali and Dwapara salutes them and asks where they are coming from. Indra tells that they are coming back from a far away place and asks where Kali was going. Kali tells that he is going to marry Damayanthi. Indra laughs at him and tells that Damayanthi's marriage with Nala is over and that they are coming back after attending that marriage ceremony. Kali gets angry and blames them for just attending the marriage function instead of marrying her. Then Kali decides to separate Nala from Damayanthi and also to get them expatriated. Kali and Dwapara thinks out a plan to cheat Nala and they decides to meet Pushkara, a distant relative of Nala. Kali can live in somebody if they do some bad things. When Kali observes Nala, he realises that Nala is perfect in all aspects. He waits in a tree for 12 years and at last one day he sees that Nala forgot to put water on his leg's backside when he was praying to God. Thus Kali enters Nala's body. In the third scene, they come to Pushkara's palace and meets him. Pushkara starts telling his worries to them and then Kali starts telling a lot of things to Pushkara and he successfully influences and changes the mind of Pushkara. Kali tells him to call Nala for playing game of dice and tell that Dwapara (in the form of an ox) will be given if he loses the game. Pushkara agrees to this and challenges Nala. Nala comes, but loses the game. The punishment is to live in jungle forever. Thus Nala and Damayanthi goes to jungle to keep the promise. Pushkara orders the countrymen not to give even a piece of cloth to them. In the jungle, Kali comes in the form of a bird and takes all their clothes away. When Damayanthi sleeps on Nala's lap, due to the effect of Kali, Nala leaves her. Finding Nala missing, Damayanthi cries and searches for him in the jungle. At that time, a snake catches her leg and starts swallowing her. Hearing her cry for help, a Kattalan (hunter) comes and kills the snake. Damayanthi expresses her gratitude to her saviour. But, he asks her to live with him. At last, finding no way out of it, she curses him. He instantly gets incinerated.(On stage, normally, till here is performed). Then Damayanthi, wandering in the deep jungle, meets a few traders and with their help she reaches a country named Chedi where she becomes servant to the queen. One day, Sudevan, a brahmin sent by Damayanthi's father searching for her reaches the palace. He suddenly recognizes her and takes her back to her father's palace. This is Nalacharitham Day - 2.
