Authentic Dishes with my Personal Touch
Ingredients
Toor Dal - ¾ cup
Tomato - 1 medium sized chopped
Crushed chilli - 2 tsp
Salt
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Coconut oil - 1-2 tbsp
Shallots - 10 nos
Water -3cups
Method
Take a small cooker and add the washed toor daal.Add turmeric powder and the tomatoes. Add water just enough for the Dhaal to be cooked. If you add too much water the stove will be filled with water when the whistle comes. Add salt and put it for 1 whistle(according to the daal that you have whistle may differ. Check whether the daal is done. Now take a thick bottomed pan and add oil to it. Add the crushed chilli and shallot mix .Add the curry leaves now. If you like garlic you can add it too. Saute the shallots well. Then add the daal to this. Allow the dish to boil for 5 mins. Add salt if necessary. Remove from the fire and serve with rice and pappad.
