വളരെ വളരെ ഉപകാരപ്രദമായ ഒരു പ്രസന്റേഷൻ ആണിത് വൈകാരികമായി ഇതിനെ നെഗറ്റീവായി കമന്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നവർ കൃഷ്ണപ്രസാദ് ഈ പ്രസന്റേഷൻ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആ പുസ്തകത്തിലെ അശാസ്ത്രീയതകളെ ചൂണ്ടി കാണിച്ചതിൽ നന്ദി പറയുകയാണ് വേണ്ടത്...ശരികളിൽ നിന്ന് കൂടുതൽ ശരികളിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര ചെയ്യണം എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഈ പ്രസന്റേഷൻ ഒരു മുതൽക്കൂട്ട് തന്നെയാണ് അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങൾ

ഹരാരി ഭാഗം 2. യുവാൽ നോഹ ഹരാരി ഒരു ചരിത്ര പണ്ഡിതനാണ്. മാനവരാശിയുടെ സാമൂഹിക ജീവിതത്തിലെ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സാമൂഹിക ചിന്താഗതികളിലെ പരിണാമം തന്റേതായ ഒരു കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിൽ നോക്കിക്കണ്ടതാണ് അദ്ദേഹം തൻറെ പുസ്തകത്തിലൂടെ പ്രതിപാദിക്കുന്നത്. മനുഷ്യൻ ഒരു സമൂഹ ജീവിയാണ്, സമൂഹമായി ജീവിക്കുന്നതാണ് അവൻറെ നിലനിൽപ്പിന് കൂടുതൽ നല്ലത് എന്ന് ഗോത്രകാലത്തേ മനുഷ്യൻ കണ്ടെത്തി. പരസ്പര സഹായമാണ് മനുഷ്യൻ കൂടുതൽ കാലം ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കാൻ നല്ലത് എന്ന് മനുഷ്യൻ മനസ്സിലാക്കി. പക്ഷെ നൂറ് നൂറ്റമ്പത് പേരെ വരെയാണ് ഒരു വ്യക്തിയുടെ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരു ചെറിയ നേതൃത്വത്തിന് കായികമായി ഒരുമിപ്പിച്ച് നിർത്താൻ സാധിച്ചൊള്ളൂ. അതുകഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ഗോത്രം വഴക്കിട്ടും അല്ലാതെയും പിരിഞ്ഞു. അവിടെയാണ് ഹരാരി പറയുന്ന കഥകളുടെ പ്രസക്തി. ഗോത്രം വലുതായപ്പോൾ അവയെ ചേർത്തുനിർത്താൻ നേതൃത്വം പല കഥകൾ ഇറക്കി. ഒരേ ദൈവത്തിൻറെ മക്കൾ, ഒരേ രാജാവ്, ഒരേ രാജ്യം, ഒരേ സാമ്രാജ്യം, ഒരേ നാണയം എന്നെല്ലാം. അപ്പോൾ പരസ്പരം അറിയാത്തവരും ഒന്നിച്ച് സഹകരിച്ചു. അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഇതെല്ലം പരസ്പരം സഹയിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഉപകരിച്ചു. എന്തിനേറെ പറയാൻ, ഇന്ന് ഒരേ ഭരഘടനയിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ച് , ഒരേ രാജ്യത്തിൽ, ഒരേ നാണയത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ച് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അംഗീകരിച്ച് നമ്മൾ ജീവിക്കുന്നു. ആ ഓരോ വിശ്വാസവും ഓരോ കഥകളാണ്. 500 രൂപ നോട്ടിന് ആ വില ഉണ്ട് എന്ന് നമ്മളും അത് വാങ്ങുന്നവരും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു. ഇത് നല്ലൊരു ആശയമായി തോന്നിയപ്പോൾ ഹരാരി അതിന് ചുറ്റുമുള്ള പ്രീ ഹിസ്റ്റോറിക് കാര്യങ്ങളും അതോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് നരവംശ ശാസ്ത്രവും, അതിനായി ഇപ്പോൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ശാസ്ത്ര രീതികളും പഠിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അനുകൂലമായി തോന്നിയ സംഗതികളെ കോർത്തിണക്കി. ആഫ്രിക്കയിലെ സാവന്ന പുൽമേടുകളിൽ നിന്നും മനുഷ്യൻ ലോകമെമ്പാടും ചെന്നെത്തിയത് പല രീതിയിലാണ്, അതിൽ മൈഗ്രേഷനും, ഇൻവേഷനും ഉണ്ട്. വയറസിനും മനുഷ്യനും ഞാൻ കാണുന്ന ഒരു പ്രത്യേകത, മറ്റ് ജീവികൾ ചെല്ലുന്നിടവുമായി പൊരുത്തപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ, മനുഷ്യനും വയറസ്സും, ചെന്നയിടം അവർക്ക് അനുകൂലമായി മാറ്റിയെടുക്കും. പൊരിയുന്ന വെയിൽ ഉള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ അതിനെ ചെറുക്കുന്ന വീടുകളും വളരെ തണുത്ത സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ, അതിനെ ചെറുക്കുന്ന വീടുകളും മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കി. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ വയറസ്സും ചെയ്യുന്നതായി തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതേപോലെ പ്രീ ഹിസ്റ്റോറിക് കാലത്ത് മനുഷ്യൻ അധിനിവേശം നടത്തിയത്, മറ്റുള്ള ജീവികളുടെ ചെലവിൽ ആണ് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ അവതാരകൻറെ അത്ര ‘ബുദ്ധിയും ജ്ഞാനവും’ വായനക്കാർക്ക് ഉണ്ടാകണമെന്നില്ല.

The adjective 'childish' is a better fit for this criticism than for Harari. You haven't got what he meant when he said "The most important thing to know about prehistoric humans is that they were insignificant animals with no more impact on their environment than gorillas, fireflies or jellyfish." I honestly felt like you have no literary sense. I am sorry.

Sapiens is Hariri’s creative story, and a pretty darn good one at that. As a historian and a story teller, he is allowed to cherry pick science to put across his points. It is a mistake people make to think that it is a scientific study. If you ignore 10% , the balance opens your mind to different ideas about the world, cultures, religion and everything starts to make sense.

കൊറേ അഹങ്കാരം.. കൊറേ തനിക്ക് എല്ലാം അറിയാമെന്ന ഭാവം.. കൊറേ അപ്പുറത്ത് ഉള്ളവൻ മണ്ടൻ ആണെന്ന പുച്ഛം.... സംശയം ചോയ്ച്ചാൽ ചോയ്ച്ച ആളെ അപമാനിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിൽ സംസാരം... 😂😂😂.. evolution പഠിപ്പിക്കാൻ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു വരുന്ന ചിലറിൽ ഞൻ കണ്ട traits ആണിത്.. ദൈവ വിശ്വാസമോ നാസ്തികതയോ എന്തും ആയിക്കോട്ടെ ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ആയാൽ ആദ്യം വേണ്ടത് humility, empathy ഒക്കെയല്ലേ... club house ൽ വച്ച് കൃഷ്ണ പ്രസാദിന്റെ ചർച്ചകൾ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ തന്നെ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വഴിക്കാണ് നാസ്തികത എങ്കിൽ അതിലേക്ക് പോകാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലതെന്ന് തോന്നും. അത്രക്ക് അഹങ്കാരവും പുച്ഛവും ആണ്.. ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൂടെ ഉള്ള ചിലർക്കും ഇതേ ഭാവം ആണ്.. രവിചന്ദ്രനും debater റേ കളിയാക്കുന്ന രീതിയിൽ സംസാരിക്കാറുണ്ട്...പക്ഷെ ഇത്ര അൻസഹിക്കബിൽ ആയി തോന്നാറില്ല.. basically വൈശാഖാൻ തമ്പിയുടെ രീതികളാണ് എനിക്കിഷ്ടം... ആരായാലും ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ എന്നുള്ള ബഹുമാനം കൊടുത്തു വേണം സംസാരിക്കാൻ.. അല്ലാതെ എല്ലാത്തിനോടും പുച്ഛമല്ല

ഹാരാരെ വിമർശനങ്ങൾക്ക് അതീതൻ ഒന്നും അല്ല .. സാപ്പിയൻസ് ശാസ്ത്ര പ്രബന്ധവുമല്ല... എന്നാലും ഇത് ഒരുമാതിരി നിലവാരമില്ലാത്ത വിമർശനം ആയിപ്പോയി... ഹാരരേക്ക് ഒന്നും അറിയില്ല ഞാൻ വലിയ വിവരശാലി എന്ന ലൈൻ.. പിന്നെ കുറെ സ്ട്രോമാൻ... ഉദാ നിയണ്ടർത്താൽ ഹോമോശപ്പിയനേക്കാൾ ഇച്ചിരി കഴിവ് കുറഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞത് തീരെ കഴിവ് ഇല്ലായെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞതായി തെറ്റിദ്ധരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു

നമ്മൾ ആഫ്രിക്കയിൽ താമസിച്ച ഓർമ വെച്ച് ഓരോന്ന് ചെയ്യുന്നതല്ല, നമ്മുടെ ചോദനകൾ (instincts) നമ്മൾ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ കാലം ജീവിച്ച പരിസ്ഥിതിയിൽ അനുകൂലം ലഭിച്ചു വന്നവയായത് കൊണ്ട്, ഇന്ന് കാണുന്ന നാഗരികതയിൽ പരിനമിക്കാൻ മനുഷ്യ മനസ്സിന് സമയം ലഭിക്കാത്തത് കൊണ്ട്, മനുഷ്യൻ ഇന്ന് ഒരു mal-adapted ജീവിയാണ്.

2013 - ൽ ഈ പുസ്തകം എനിക്ക് ഒരു സുഹൃത്ത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നിട്ട് വായിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ട പുസ്തകം ആണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് തന്നു. വായിച്ച് തുടങ്ങിയാൽ പൂർത്തിയാക്കാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയില്ല. നമ്മുടെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാട് മാറ്റിമറിക്കും. ആ പുസ്തകമാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം വായിച്ച് തുടങ്ങിയിട്ട് മാറ്റി വച്ചെന്നും പിന്നീട് ആരോ വിമർശിക്കുന്നത് കേട്ട് വീണ്ടും വായിച്ചെന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. കാര്യമാത്ര പ്രസക്തമായ വിമർശനം നല്ലതാണ്. എന്നാൽ കഴമ്പുള്ള ഒരു വിമർശനം പോലും ഇദ്ദേഹം വച്ചില്ല. എന്തൊക്കെയോ പുച്ഛത്തോടെ പറയാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു എന്നാണ് തോന്നിയത്. യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എന്താണ് പറയുന്നതെന്ന് ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന് മനസിലായിട്ടില്ല. നമുക്ക് കഴിയില്ലെങ്കിൽ കഴിയുന്നവനെ വിമർശിച്ച് cheap popularity നേടാൻ നോക്കുന്ന അധമ സമീപനം മാത്രമാണിത്. പണ്ട് യേശുദാസിന് പാടാൻ അറിയില്ലെന്നൊക്കെ കാര്യകാരണ സഹിതം ഒരു പ്രശസ്ത എഴുത്തുകാരൻ കലാ കൗമുദിയിൽ എഴുതി. (അന്നദ്ദേഹം അത്ര അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ആളല്ലായിരുന്നു.) അത് വളരെ ചർച്ചയായി. വളരെക്കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞ് അദ്ദേഹം അത് തിരുത്തിപ്പറയുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇത് ചർച്ചയാവാനൊന്നും പോകുന്നില്ല. കൃഷ്ണ പ്രസാദിന് മാന്യതയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഇപ്പോഴേ തെറ്റ് പറ്റിയെന്ന് ഏറ്റ് പറയുന്നതാണ് നല്ലത്.

KP is missing the whole point that Youval H is making regarding how human beings came to become so powerful that the present ecological epoch is named as anthropocene by climatologists.

Very good presentation. Thank you KP. While reading the book itself, I have felt some of the points are Hararis imagination based on the information he has collected. It was an interesting read though. If his arguments about extinction are correct, African elephants and other wild animals would have gone extinct already as humans are in Africa for the longest period of time.

Essence is an arena of free thinkers who interprets this kind of marvellous book in their own way(eg:DAS KAPITAL). I have only watched his first criticism-which is absolutely misread and misunderstood by him. As a student from an anthropological background and as a person who thoroughly gone through this book; Harari is pointing to a time where human haven’t discovered fire, actually this points comes in first pages of the book where he hadn’t defined who really was prehistoric humans!! Really this had become a place for ignorant fellows😵‍💫

ഒരിക്കൽ ഒരു ചാരനിറമുള്ള എലി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അത് നാല് എലികുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അവ ഓടികളിക്കുന്നതിനിടയിൽ രണ്ടെണ്ണം ഒരു പാറകെട്ടിലേക്കും രണ്ടെണ്ണം ഒരു വയലിലേക്കും എത്തിപ്പോയി. വയലിൽ എത്തിയ എലി കുറേ നാളുകൾ കൊണ്ട് ഒത്തിരി എണ്ണം ആയി കൂടി. അതിനിടയിൽ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞു ജനിച്ചത് അല്പം തവിട്ട് നിറത്തിലുള്ളതായിരുന്നു. ഇരപിടിയന്റെ കണ്ണിൽ നിന്നും വയലിൽ അതിനു ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കാൻ എളുപ്പമായി. ക്രമേണ അവിടത്തെ population ൽ തവിട്ടുനിറക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണം കൂടിവന്നു. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ പറക്കെട്ടിൽ എത്തിയ എലിയും. അവിടെയുള്ളവർ പിന്നീട് കറുപ്പ് നിറക്കാരായി മാറി. കറുത്ത നിറക്കാരും തവിട്ടു നിറക്കാരും cousins ആണ്. പരിണാമം ഇങ്ങനെയും നടക്കാലോ.. ഇത്തിരി large scale ലേക്ക് extrapolate ചെയ്താൽ വ്യത്യസ്ത species ആയിക്കൂടെ... Harari പറഞ്ഞത് പൂർണമായും തെറ്റാണോ?
