Great Western Mountain
Situated in Nuwara-Eliya, Central Province of Sri Lanka, Great Western Mountain is the 7th tallest mountain in Sri Lanka with a height of 2,212 meters. The Great western mountain is a beautiful paradise located behind one of the most beautiful railway stations in the hill country.
The Great Western mountain has a steep slope and an unclear footpath. While climbing, you will see a 70 years old small Hindu Kovil which is assumed to be set up by a hiker who lost his way and for whom Paththini Amma Goddess helped to find the way out. The mountain is nature-friendly with its rich bio-diversity. Being prepared with the necessary essentials and fetching a guide is a must for hiking in Great Western Mountain.
Great Western Railway Station is situated between Watagoda Railway Station and Radella Railway Station on the Main railway line.
මහා බටහිර කන්ද
ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ මධ්‍යම පළාතේ නුවරඑළියේ පිහිටා ඇති ග්‍රේට් වෙස්ටර්න් කන්ද ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ 7 වන උසම කන්ද වන අතර එහි උස මීටර් 2,212 කි. මහා බටහිර කන්ද කඳුකරයේ සුන්දරම දුම්රිය ස්ථානයක් පිටුපස පිහිටා ඇති සුන්දර පාරාදීසයකි.
ග්‍රේට් වෙස්ටර්න් කන්දට ඇත්තේ දැඩි බෑවුමක් සහ අපැහැදිලි අඩිපාරකි. කඳු නගින විට ඔබට පෙනෙනු ඇත්තේ වසර 70 ක් පැරණි කුඩා හින්දු කෝවිලක් වන අතර එය මාර්ගය අහිමි වූ කඳු නගින්නෙකු විසින් පිහිටුවන ලද බවට උපකල්පනය කරන ලද අතර පත්තිනි අම්මා දේවතාවිය ඉන් පිටවීමට මාර්ගය සොයා ගැනීමට උපකාර කළාය. මෙම කන්ද එහි පොහොසත් ජෛව විවිධත්වය සමඟ ස්වභාවධර්මයට හිතකාමී වේ. අවශ්‍ය අත්‍යවශ්‍ය ද්‍රව්‍ය සමඟ සූදානම්ව සිටීම සහ මාර්ගෝපදේශකයෙකු ලබා ගැනීම ග්‍රේට් වෙස්ටර්න් කඳු නැගීම සඳහා අත්‍යවශ්‍ය වේ.
ග්‍රේට් වෙස්ටර්න් දුම්රිය ස්ථානය ප්‍රධාන දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ වටගොඩ දුම්රිය ස්ථානය සහ රදැල්ල දුම්රිය ස්ථානය අතර පිහිටා ඇත.
