Congratulations to our cricket team.It was a beautiful batting performance & only if it was prior it would have been better. We lack quick desisions making & adjustment & in T20 these are a must & its the intent of batters that counts.Anyway well done for showing the cricketing world of our batting abilities .
We all know Wanindu Hasaranga is one of the best all-rounders in the world, especially in the shortest formats of the game. He is certainly one of the most skilled spinners I have ever seen, with the potential to break all kinds of bowling records. The fact remains that he is still only 26 years old, and we have yet to see him in his prime. The issue with Wanindu these days has nothing to do with his skill set or talent. His dip in form with the bat began after he took on the captaincy for the first time in a World Cup. However, this does not mean that the captaincy is to blame. The main issue, as I see it, is that he struggles to manage his emotions effectively. Wanindu is a passionate cricketer who loves to display his aggressive nature and attitude. However, this attitude can sometimes prevent him from giving his best for the team. When you have an aggressive and arrogant nature, you can become overconfident, making you predictable to the opposition. For example, with the bat, he always prefers to play on the offside. Every opposing captain knows that he will move towards the legside and swing his bat through the offside. You cannot be this predictable or one-dimensional at the highest level of this sport. This predictability is also affecting his bowling. Even when he gets hit for a six, he does not change anything and continues to bowl the same delivery with the same line and length out of arrogance. This is why batsmen now play him like an off-spinner; he overuses his googly. If he bowls ten balls, eight of them are googlies, and batsmen are ready to take that risk against him because they know what to expect. If he were less predictable, he would be almost unplayable because it is nearly impossible to pick his deliveries from his hand. However, when he bowls too many googlies, batsmen can take calculated risks, treating him as an off-spinner. When you cannot control your game, it becomes difficult to lead a side. Emotional control is crucial for effective captaincy. A captain must be able to control their emotions and make decisions with their brain, not their heart. Captaincy requires calmness and composure. Over-aggressiveness leads to emotional decision-making, which often results in mistakes. While emotions are essential to keep the sport alive, a national team captain must maintain a cool head in any situation. As a captain, you cannot afford to make a single decision based on emotion; you must always use your brain.
Agree with most of your comment however to say Wanidhu is one of the most skilled spinners you have seen suggest you are a teenager who hasn’t seen much cricket and spinners in all formats of the game.
@@insopanasiancuisine8098 I'm neither a teenager nor ameture to cricket! You are the one who looks like one because it clearly seems you can't even get what I meant by that sentence! I didn't say he is one of the best spinners I've seen. I said that he is one of the most skilled spinners and that alone wouldn't make him a great player but it means his potential is massive. Hence why I stated the fact that he's still only 26 and we haven't even seen half of what he can do yet! And he's already the highest T20I wicket-taker in Sri Lankan history! He is the 2nd fastest to reach 100 wickets in T20Is. We all know Rashid Khan who is the fastest to 100 was playing against associate nations most of the time while SL always have to play against test nations!
@@thusharalakshan1961 ok when you say he is one of the most skilled spinners you have seen there is nothing stopping me from saying he is not and I don’t agree with your comment because he is not. He has taken most of his 100 wickets against average teams and being a mystery spinner. You still sound like a new kid in the block mate sorry.
@@insopanasiancuisine8098 Against average teams? Lol. I think you have mistaken him to somebody else from Afghanistan. You have no idea on what you're talking about! LMAO What can I say rather than being sympathetic about your delusional mindset!
@@thusharalakshan1961 provide stats of wanidhu taking wickets against top 4 teams as much as he has done against average teams. You are the one who is deluded. Wanidu won’t have the same run over the next 3-4 years as the last 4 years with the ball. He has already been picked by teams and 8 out of his 10 balls are just Googlies. He also lacks situational awareness and cricket intelligence which is reflected by his batting style which is almost one sided. Maybe you won’t pick him and come to terms with how to bowl at him but we are talking about international cricketers.
Let Wanindu remain as captain for at least 1 year for him to settle down. It was wrong to put him in as captain just for the World Cup. He should have been made captain earlier for him to get used to the role.
We should add more professionalism in to the team. We have skills, but we do not know how to use and control it. Without knowing that, difficult to adjust to the situation. What we were faced in the t20 world Cup. Leadership cannot measure by their talents. Leadership means a talent..
Hasaranga is solely responsible for SL not qualifying for the super eight. He and his leadership lost the BD match. After winning the toss against SA why did SL chose to bat on an unknown wicket where very little data was available. Either he should resign from captaincy or he should be removed from captaincy. He is in the same class as Virat Kohli. Both are good players but not good captains to make good on-field decisions and lead their teams. He came to bat before Angelo in the BD match. Is he thinking that he is a better batsman than Angelo?
Easy to understand, our team has problems with handling the pressure. This last game has no pressure to SL tema. last couple of years, SL team always win with low pressure games.
@@AC-hu3xk I agreed to that point . But insulting these two base on theirs religion is not good in below comments. This two guys trying to add some value to cricket. We can see some of our players doesn't have commitments and dedication as sanga and kholi use to have. When they have money they just enjoy and not behaving like professionals.
