That kid was crying just because of that kid got frightened because they're talking and doing some spooky, frightening stuff. not because that kid saw something. But they all began to think this as an illusion .. that's a good turning point for them. Eventually they'll understand that there is nothing outside as we see there are trees people etc.
If we talk about something is related to our conciseness , yes I agree it's a frightening stuff ,it's more like someone's in between in the state of conscious and unconscious , if we had no experience such kind of a state we cannot make an accurate statement regarding that, the biggest fear is in that situation is that you feel that your body is in danger , you feel that someone would do something ,all you need to do is to get full attention with the fear, yes but these everything is a reference to understand that you're not really exists , there's no transformation to a higher self or something beyond that , it's an idea that not belongs to the idea of you ..! illusion is you & you're the illusion , there's no separation.
