Thank you very much for sharing this clip from the movie. Kalu Diya Dahara was possibly one of the earliest movies with a leftist theme ever made in Sri Lanka. I believe this was Ravindra Randeniya's debut film. If I remember correctly Indira Jonklass was the lead female actress. The film was directed by late Manik Sandrasagra. He was a controversial character though I think he was grossly underrated as a movie director. His work in Kalu Diya Dahara is no different to the subsequent work by Dr Dharmasena Pathiraja. The original lyrics in English was written by late Nimal Mendis. The lyrics were translated by Karunaratne Abesekara. Sinhala versions for the movie were sung by Neville Fernando and Neela Wickramasinghe. Sadly most artists involved in the movie e.g. Joe,Neville,Neela, Nimal, Karunaratne Abesekara and Manik are no longer with us. I would really love to watch this movie again. Wonder whether this is available anywhere?
@@thusithjayasuriya1681if that is the case then who is singing in this video, which is supposed to be from Kalu Diya Dahara? Unless someone has just dubbed a recording onto the clip? I also heard that there are no copies of this film in existence anymore, at least not at the state film corporation
