මේඝගිරියට ඉසුරුමුනිය කියලා ඉසුරුමුනියට වෙස්සගිරිය කිව්වම කවදාවත් නියම වෙස්සගිරියක් හොයන්නෑ නෑමයි.. 

The place which was named as vessagiriya is located at the road front of old kurunegala Anuradhapura road .
It is an old aaraama complex built by king dewanam piyathissa in 3rd century Bc.
A rock inscription found from the place has mentioned that the name of the place is
Bo upulwan kasupgiri .
But chulawamsa mentioned that king Kashyapa 1 has renamed the issarasamanaramaya as Bo upulwan kasupgiri viharaya as the tribute of his daughters who were named as Bodhi and Uppalawanna .
