I’m writing this comment with full respect. Firstly, I’d love to thank you for bringing intellectual topics to the table, especially when so much other content is quite shallow. But I’m really disappointed with this video. Let me offer some constructive criticism, and I hope you take it with an open mind. First of all, the topic is "Is Astrology True?" yet, throughout the 1.20 hour video, you didn’t provide any counterarguments or supportive arguments about astrology being right or wrong. you mainly talked about what astrology is, its history, books, how predictions are made, and your experiences with astrology. Is this really how you want to discuss or argue about whether something is true or false? It felt like a onesided discussion without proper arguments. Id recommend bringing in someone with the intellectual capacity to present counterarguments for what you’re talking about. otherwise, this just feels like a oneway discussion that misses the point of the topic. Secondly, if you want to claim something is true, you have to take on the burden of proof. This is the most basic level to start a conversation if you want to claim something is true. But you missed the whole concept of the burden of proof and just discussed whatever you wanted. PATHATIC!. If astrology is true, you should explain how Saturn helps my marriage or helps me pass my exam. Do the fundamental forces help explain this, or is it some mysterious force like dark energy you mentioned? We know with the current known fundamental forces, it’s bullshit to say that saturn force would impact my life events. It just makes no sense at all. just imagine, with the distance and mass, how insignificant their force is to us. Just do the math. If there is any force at all, why is it only for me, and how can it differ based on my birth time and place? so pleasee explain how saturn affects my life in a way that everybody can understand (in a scientific way). Thirdly, let’s say astrology is a black box, and we don’t know how satrn affects my life, like you explained with the sun ray example(its okay we if we don't know about something if it is useful). lets say astrology can be used to predict or explain our lives even though we don’t know how. Okay, let’s assume that. Then we can’t rely on natural science to explain astrology. Fine, that’s why we have social science. How would a social scientist determine if astrology is true or false? Let’s take all known variables that would affect human life and take astrology as a variable too. Then he would design a proper quantitative social science research with a carefully designed regression model. I repeat, if you want to do proper scientific research , you have to learn lots of regression (or econometrics). If the model is well designed, we can confidently say if the varible astrology is significant enough to explain the dependent variable’s behaviour. It’s a much better way of convincing your point than a random youtuber saying, "hey, I told that thing to that person based on astrology, and it looks so right, hence astrology is true." Otherwise, why should I even believe you when you say astrology is true because you predicted something to a random person? It’s okay to belive if its a daytoday random thing. but with a very controversial topic like astrology, you have to be very careful when making claims. Lastly, regarding the claims you made, I think you folks, as educated people, know about cognitive biases, the Barnum effect, and confirmation bias (you mentioned confirmation bias in the video too). These can explain pretty well why your claims seem to be true. Our brains are designed to misguide us in many ways due to these biases, such as the self-fulfilling prophecy, selection bias,clustering Illusion, the availability heuristic etc. These biases can make astrological predictions seem accurate when they’re not. I highly encourage you to watch derran browns video where he demonstrates how these predictions can misguide us. I think the video is titled something like "Derren Brown Astrology." I think your whole discussion is pointless and looks like you just want to sell your software for some fifty thousand rupees. It’s very disappointing to see so-called intellectual content creators becoming like this. To prevent me from thinking this way, I recommend you bring in some rationalists, like Dr. Senarath Weragama or someone popular with an educated background, to counter your arguments. I think that’s a much more thoughtful way of creating content than just spouting nonsense to sell something.
if astrology is true ,we can simply predict and make children who have special birth days 🤣🤣🤣 also my dear brother please use this secret technology to bring-back Sri Lanka from the never ending political turmoil...this should be a major project...
