If there is sand, first soak the Kasa Kasa seeds. Then put the soaked Kasa kasa into a fine strainer. Hold it through running water and the sand will wash off. If you are living out of Sri Lanka, indian stores have good quality, sand free Kasa Kasa seeds. Hope this helps you.
