I captured some adorable pictures of the golden-backed three-toed woodpecker at Lamphu Island Public Park in Surat Thani Province. This beautiful green area is nestled in the middle of the Tapi River. If I get the chance, I’ll definitely visit again, as I’m sure there are many more stunning birds to discover.
นกหัวขวานสามนิ้วหลังทอง (อังกฤษ: Common flameback, Common goldenback; ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์: Dinopium javanense) เป็นนกหัวขวานชนิดหนึ่ง มีลำตัวยาว 30 เซนติเมตร ขนด้านหลังและขนปีกสีเหลืองอมส้ม สะโพกสีแดงสด หางดำ อกและท้องมีจุดกลมสีขาวบนพื้นสีดำ ตัวผู้มีหัวและหงอนสีแดง ตัวเมียมีหัวและหงอนสีดำจุดขาว มีนิ้วยาว 3 นิ้ว ยื่นมาทางด้านหน้า 2 นิ้ว ด้านหลัง 1 นิ้ว ขนหางสั้นมีแกนขนที่แข็งแรง ใช้สำหรับการเกาะและไต่ต้นไม้ จะงอยปากแหลมยาวเรียว ชอบอาศัยในป่าโปร่ง, ป่าชายเลน ตลอดจนถึงสวนผลไม้ ที่มีความสูงจากระดับน้ำทะเลไม่เกิน 1,500 เมตร มักพบอยู่ตามลำพัง หรือเป็นคู่ตามโพรงไม้ ไต่ไม้เจาะเปลือกไม้หาแมลงกินด้วยการไต่จากโคนต้นในแนวดิ่ง มีฤดูผสมพันธุ์ในช่วงระหว่างเดือนมีนาคม-เมษายน วางไข่ครั้งละ 2-3 ฟอง
