ข่าวดีสำหรับวอลเลย์บอลหญิงไทย เมื่อโคโว วีลีก ของเกาหลีใต้ ประกาศเพิ่มค่าจ้างโควตาเอเชีย
เมื่อสุดสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา สหพันธ์วอลเลย์บอลเกาหลี หรือ KOVO ได้ทำการหารือเกี่ยวกับการเพิ่มค่าแรงให้กับบรรดานักตบโควตาเอเชีย ทั้งชายและหญิง หลังเห็นว่าผู้เล่นโควตาเอเชียหลายคนเล่นได้คุ้มค่า และมีประโยชน์กับทีมมากกว่าผู้เล่นในประเทศที่ได้รับเงินเดือนสูงกว่า ทำให้มีข้อเสนอว่า ควรขึ้นเงินเดือนให้ตรงกับความเป็นจริง
ล่าสุด KOVO จะมีมติให้เพิ่มเงินเดือนโควตาเอเชียจาก 100,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ หรือประมาณ 3,500,000 บาท (รวมภาษี) ในปีแรก เป็น 120,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ หรือประมาณ 4,200,000 บาท
ก่อนจะเพิ่มเป็น 150,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ หรือประมาณ 5,200,000 บาทในปีที่ 2 นอกจากนี้ยังเพิ่มประเทศที่มีสิทธิ์ได้รับโควตาเอเชียจากเดิม 10 ประเทศ คือ ไทย, ฟิลิปปินส์, อินโดนีเซีย, เวียดนาม, มาเลเซีย, เมียนมา, ญี่ปุ่น, มองโกเลีย, ไต้หวัน และฮ่องกง เพิ่มเป็น 64 ประเทศ ตามประเทศสมาชิกของสมาพันธ์วอลเลย์บอลแห่งเอเชีย หรือ AVC
