Congress sends "Resolve Tibet Act" to President for signature. During Sikyong Penpa Tsering’s visit to Jangthang Nyoma, Ladakh, in his public address said that the "Resolve Tibet Act," recently passed by both houses was sent to the President’s desk to sign into law within ten days. Once signed, it will be a positive development and joyous movement for the Tibetan people. Sikyong emphasized the Kashag's continuing efforts to gain similar support in other countries.
Taiwan President Welcomes New De Facto U.S. Ambassador. The newly appointed Director of the Taipei Office of the American Institute in Taiwan, Raymond Greene met with Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te on Wednesday, and said "First and foremost, the United States will continue to strongly support Taiwan's self-defense capabilities. We share a common and long-term interest in the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait." Although the U.S. and Taiwan do not have formal diplomatic relations, the American Institute in Taiwan serves as the de facto U.S. embassy.
