An incredibly progressive thinker and visionary Oromo intellectual ever to grace the Ethiopian politics. Today more than ever Oromos need intellectuals of Halie Fida's caliber who can see the benefits of togetherness and the national health and strength that could be had from unity. Oromos need visionaries like Haile Fida who can see far with courteous vision and confidence the benefits of togetherness instead of the unjustified fear of others for the majority group the likes of the Oromos community in our country. Oromos intellectuals should look back to Haile Fida's vision and experience at the same time try to borrow a leaf from the here and now by looking at the way our Somali brothers and sisters are handling their region vis-a-vis the bigger national issues. Derg and Mengistu Hilemariam had left lasting damage on our country by frustrating and destroying Meson. They were amazing visionaries who could be able to see things well before time. It is not far from the truth if we say they had seen what we are in today coming very early from that early time. Having said that if we can go as far as Germany to learn their language and teach them ours why is it so difficult for us to learn each other's languages to make our lives easier given that our issues are centred mainly around differences in languages???
Haile Fida was one of the greatest human ever lived. But his name has been distorted by EPRP for half a century. EPRP and TPLF are the curse of Ethiopia.
