Utterly mellifluous and ethereal. Japanese, then Mandarin, and then Khmer. This song is eternal, and heavenly. Credits go to the original singer: Japanese.
The best thing about Cambodians in the pre-war time was that even when they copied from a foreign tune, they made it our own. They didn’t copy to the exact line the idiots in the present times.
Mei Dai (美黛) (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k_XEePWJOlk.html) and Yao Su Rong (姚蘇蓉) (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x4tPU9EiH9M.html) also sang versions of the same melody. I love them all, but do prefer Chhoun Malay's vocal style.
It's natural habits of Khmer people , they like to copy everything from other countries and always think that Khmer version is better than the original version even it is not the truth. You can see it a lot in RU-vid . What a blind and deaf Khmer people .
