Is it onIy me or I remember when Khmers used to call each other formerly by Mr., Ms., and Mrs. or Ladies and Gentlemen (អស់លោកលោកស្រីអ្នកនាងកញ្ញា) in Khmer in the ‘90s? I absolutely hate it when Khmers now call each other “Brothers and Sisters “បងប្អូន” when they aren’t even biologically related. It is way too democratic communistic for my taste. It reminds me of blacks and Muslims here in America as well as the world calling each other brothers and sisters as a way to form democratic allies. Or it reminds me of Latinos calling each other cousins.
