+ucandoit101 It doesn't mean they gonna destroy our culture! They believe that it will be easier even for the musicians and contestants( singers). Moreover,everything on the stage is almost considered to be khmer culture even the dress, rhythms, and melodies are truly khmer. I know that you're a cultural conservator; however, you don't need to be mad a bout this. I'm a cultural lover also; I think it will be useful even we mix some modern western instrument in this mohory form.
We mix the western instrument in this competition program, but we play all the khmer traditional musical instrument in one more program is called the smile of Cambodian culture which is broadcasted on Bayon TV on Wednesday 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Your argument don't hold water Mr. Pan. There are differences between love a culture and preserve a culture. I don't need to love a culture but I want to preserve it. When people says they want to preserve their heritage but they are practicing this nonsense idea, they must ask themselves what is the meaning of Preserving a heritage? Yes, you can mix and match instruments within your culture - not with western. Why don't they wear a cowboy hat too?!? This is one reason why the Khmer civilization is disappearing, getting weaker, and almost wiped out.
