A 100-meter-long flyover will be built across National Road No. 1 at the Mekong River Bridge (Clay-Thmor Kor) Bridge Project, which connects to the west bank of Xi Jinping Boulevard (Third Ring Road). And the east coast with the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway. According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on July 6, 2024, the bridge across the Mekong River (clay-stone) is a concrete bridge with a total length of 3,700 meters. The bridge, with a total length of 1,600 meters and a width of 26 meters, was inaugurated in mid-2023, as well as the construction of a 120-meter-long flyover over National Road No. 1.
The Ministry said that the above bridge is funded under the budget supported by the development partner and the construction site was opened on June 7, 2023 under the high presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister of the Kingdom. Cambodia takes 48 months to complete construction, scheduled for completion by 2027. Please be informed that China Road Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is currently the contractor, having prepared the location for the office, warehouse and construction workshop. Meanwhile, CRBC is building a temporary port for transporting construction materials, which has reached 80% and has completed the access road to the site. For drilling equipment and tools, machinery and some construction materials to serve the construction ready for import from China may arrive in Cambodia soon to start construction.
